I disagree. It was a very original screenplay and deserved the honor of being nominated. There is always an influence of political correctness. Getting nominated is an act of respect. Winning is a public statement. It is the winners that people remember and react to. With the outcry over the effect of violence on TV and film, there's no way Hollywood risks such a backlash by giving such a prestigious honor to such a violent film.

This years Oscar for Best Picture will go to Les Miserables or Argo (which promotes the avoidance of violence). Book it
