Wtf does "personal" mean? It could mean hundreds of things.
He could personally quit because he was dying of cancer.
He could personally quit because he hated football.
He could personally quit because he hated Miles.
There is no non-personal way to quit.

but all that needed to be done was a simple press release
That was done. The reason given was personal reasons. Personal, nimrod. That means it isn't any of your or my business. Get it? Alex doesn't owe any of us anything.
I find it pretty hypocritical that you didn't give any personal information in your Rant bio, but you demand personal information form a personal player.
No go back to watching Snooki and leave it at that.

ultimately what does it matter? regardless of what happened, it's really none of my business, and finding out would change nothing about me. and certainly with little, to no, information, I'm not going to make a value judgement about another person.

Quite simply, it means "none of anyone's fricking business."

Yeah, I don't get it.
If the team collapsed after his departure, or even loss a game due to the play of the OL, then maybe I could understand all the questions.
But, the line ended up playing one of its best games after he left, and arguably, the team was better off by gaining some experience on the right side.

We do not need to attack Hurst for quiting. He faced a Medical Situation that was personal and private, that I'm glad it wasn't me to make. I will re-tell a little ,but will stop because we need to drop this,he's not a quitter,it's a bad medical situation that I wouldn't wish on anybody. I ran into a former lineman in August that went to 2 LSU summer camps with my son. We know each other and he told me what he got from 2 current linemen. Hurst's 4 year longtime serious girlfriend got pregnant. That happens to a lot of people, but she left him and left the state, gone. He frantically tried to find her and did, out of state. THEN, they found out a "serious medical situation with the pregnancy" they had to face. I will stop here. I hope they make a statement sometime to the fans and LSU and I do not know the current medical situation in January. It appears to have gotten better since August, but I DO NOT KNOW the status. I wish them well. My wife is a surgery RN and she says their medical situation was really bad and serious. He apparently is not going to play football again, but go to work to pay for a baby, MAYBE.

So why would he give up the millions? That could pay for plenty of medical treatments.

Some people just don't get it.

That's fine. But, with that decision comes the acceptance of people continually asking questions and/or assuming that Hurst acted selfishly (right or wrong).
To my knowledge, Hurst never released a statement indicating his reasons for leaving, expressing regret, and offering his support for his teammates and coaches. If he had done that, I don't think anyone would really continue to bring this up.

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings...my apologies.
Hurst may very well be a victim...but nobody knows...hence the continued questions.
