Lewis should be sitting in a prison cell right now for the murder he helped commit in 2000, yet he is being praised by some because he is a good football player. F him.

Who was the better linebacker Ray Lewis or Lawerence Taylor?

Ray Lewis is a king of self-promotion.

When they both started in the league, Zach Thomas was every bit as good as the Pilejumper. Actually, I'd have taken Zach Thomas the first 6-7 years he was in the league.

Nice troll, I'll bite. Ray was one of, if not the best, defensive players in the league during his first 6-7 years. That is the time when his athleticism at the position was unmatched and he was quickly becoming one of the league's smartest defensive players.

Zach Thomas

Ray Lewis

I live in Baltimore and have had season tickets to the Ravens for 10 years. I absolutely understand why many people dislike Ray, there are plenty of reasons. But, you have to be completely asinine to not think he is one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history.

I agree. He's one of the best linebackers to ever play the position and I'm old enough to have seen Butkus, Nitschke (sp?) & others play. I respect his on the field ability.

I'm old and saw both of them play. Those two belonged in a zoo. Freakin animals.

What is telling to me is that none of his peers have anything negative to say about him ever. I don't ever remember him being in any trouble outside of that incident. I do remember hearing about all the young players he tries to keep on the straight and narrow and how much they respect and appreciate the guy.

On the field, he's been amazing.

And Zach Thomas?

None given here. But it's good to see him quote the bible after the game.

I like his comments, but he's like Holyfield.

Well, whatever Ray Lewis did or didn't do in the past, I am sure that the Lord has forgiven him of it if Lewis asked for forgiveness. Bringing up the sins of one's past, when they have brought them to God, is very bad mojo. I don't want to be standing next to you in a lightning storm, all you holier-than-thou stone throwers.
