Wolves do not occur this far south, but coyotes do and the animal could have been a hybrid cross between a coyote and a large domesticated dog.

Last documented in la in mid - to late 70s

About 20 years ago my brother killed what we still think was a wolf...wasn't furry like that one. Had a red tint to it, was huge and had a giant chest and small back end. First time i saw it the hair stood up on the back of my neck...
