frick that. Those 2 are too vindictive for that position. Neither have any problem at all with taking athletes into their schools, especially Guice, but cry like women when a kid leaves. Both held up paperwork and did everything in their power to have kids ruled ineligible when they transferred to WM. Guice didn't have any problems taking WM's best basketball player who just so happens to be Ouachita's leading scorer this year. 3 years at WM, transfers to Ouachita before his Senior season...legit, move along. He vowed to do everything in his power to make sure Cam never played another down of football in high school. Vidrine held up a baseball transfer from Neville to WM last year before having him ruled ineligible. One of WM's best players leaves for Ruston this year? No problem, nothing to see here. Just be consistent is all I'm saying.

i looked up the past commissioners... Hammond, Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Ruston,
let it be like it is... united the LHSAA stands, divided it will fall

Vidrine almost single handedly ruined HS football in this state with his bitching.

treat all schools and regions the same....
the very schools that were the ringleaders for play in class which screwed 2a and 1a for years... are the ring leaders now..
they are only worried about their own parochial interests.

Please enlighten me on the kid from WM that you say Vidrine had ruled ineligible. I would like to hear what you think happened.

If the LHSAA doesn't watch out and they keep trying to push the private schools further down, I wouldn't be surprised if the private schools start their own league. Why not? They could make more money and have rules that benefit themselves. Sounds win-win for private schools. Let the public schools try and run themselves. It will be in shambles within years.

I wonder how big the major colleges are interested in this possible split. I think it would definitely hurt LSU recruiting if the competition got watered down, so I wonder if they have a dog in the fight and have put little birds in the ears of the LHSAA.

Is this bullshite really going to pass?

The people who do not want it to pass are from what would be classified as select schools or are just stupid.

Huh? You realize that the public schools will be the ones hurt the most during this scenario, right? When the private schools leave the association they will take with them the ability to change their recruiting rules to benefit themselves. Imagine an association where recruiting is not demonized. Now also imagine the private association willing to pony up more money to pay for the tenured referees. The public schools will be left scrambling. And finally, many public school coaches have no clue how to successfully run operations and logistics. A public school league would all but kill every sport outside of Football and basketball, with a handful of the big schools still able to hold on to baseball. Soccer, wrestling, cross country, track, swimming, baseball, and golf would all be a shell of its former self in a public only league, if not die off all together.

Most likely because Select vs non-select outnumber 70-30. If the LHSAA allows the private schools to be segregated like that, I would hope the private schools would form their own league which would develop rules that actually help the private schools instead of participating in a majorly public league that looks to spite the privates at every yearly meeting.

Plus all the refs would go to the select school games. Plus the money that the private schools bring in attendance

Exactly. Public schools are not able to compete with privates because of social issues, nothing to do with private school advantages. Public schools should start at home if they want to make their teams better.
