Outside of the chains, and since The Silver Moon is no longer with us, what's the best dive place for LSU student grub? Thoughts?

Best in what regard? Price? Quality? Atmosphere?
Posted on 1/10/13 at 12:01 pm to bdevill
Pluckers, Almaza, Brightside

Brightside Bar and Grill might fit your definition.

I would put Chimes or Chelseas above all of those

For some reason, I love me some Almaza. I like it more than almost any other Mediterranean place in BR. Sometimes I like Albasha better but I'm a sucker for Almaza.
Chelseas is good - as someone mentioned.
Not sure if it would be considered a "dive" but I enjoy a good Inga's sandwich every now and then.

Chimes isn't what I would call a "dive"
Louie's would be a dive. Raoul's is a dive. Brightside Bar & Grill is a dive.

Chimes Oyster deal is the shite. I'm pretty sure around 50 cents and if you go during happy hour you get dirt cheap pitchers of PBR.
Rauls monday night deal is great too for a gut bomb burger and fries for around 5 bones.
AM mart sandwiches are HUGE and around 5 dollars as well.

This. Pluckers (though not technically a 'dive') is also up there IMHO.

Rotolos is so overrated its hilarious.

I always thought a dive was some place you could walk into wearing shorts and a t-shirt and get a seat, no reservations.
