Questioning Miles is wrong. He is perfect and has no faults.

We get belligerent because we get TIRED of having to explain to you negative nancies just how much worse off LSU could be. Do you remember the 90's???

I'll answer this...
Because I see absolutely no end game for the alternative. Without even delving into the merits of any of the arguments for or against Miles or the state of the program, I can't for the life of me figure out the PURPOSE of openly complaining anonymously on a message board about it.
Here are the facts:
- Miles has won 80+% of his games while at LSU
- Miles has a multi-year deal and a very large contract
So what's the end game by constantly bitching? Is anyone under the impression that anonymous dickholes on the internet are going to persuade the AD to buyout Miles' multi-year multimillion dollar contract with that winning percentage and THEN bring in an even better coach who is ok taking a job where that just happened?
Is it just to complain without any goal in mind?
Something else?
That's why I get upset by this. I'm a fan. I love LSU football and still get the same joy I did as a kid when I walk into Tiger Stadium 7 to 8 Saturdays in the Fall. I see no purpose in this type of complaining because even if you agree with the complaints (I don't for the most part) I don;t see how it will effect any change that may be hoped for. All I see happening from this type of behavior is alienating current and potential players by making it seem like the fanbase is filled with malcontents.

By "positigers," I presume you mean the irrationally exuberant, wilfuly ignorant fools who are oblivious to any flaws in Miles or the staff, rather than posters who have a measured but optimistic view of the program? If so, that sect really shouldn't be referred to as "positigers," but rather as Idolators of Les Miles. They have predicated their entire interest in the LSU program on their love and deification of one man. They can't distinguish between LSU qua program and the individual who happens to coach them at any given moment. In that regard, they are absolutely no different than the "Sabanistas" they profess to disdain. Both are cults of personality revolving around a single individual.
As to why the Idolators are so belligerent, it is because they are growing desperate. Saban has outdistanced Miles, Alabama is ascendant, LSU clearly isn't the premier program in the SEC West, LSU hasn't won an NC in half a decade, and Miles has suffered a number of setbacks this past year: 1/9, a subpar 2012 recruiting class, off the field shenanigans like Tyrann's dismissal, a home loss to Alabama which included some quizzical coaching decisions, continuing offensive stagnation, and - most recently - losing an eleven point fourth quarter lead to Clemson. Rather than objectively discussing the past year and its implications, the Idolators believe they can efface history by dint of sheer frenzy and posting volume. Hence the rabid frothing. This is what happens when you take extreme positions and then insist on clinging to them despite all evidence.
In any event, thankfully such posters constitute a tiny fraction of the fanbase. Most people recognize Miles's true strengths and deficiencies. Similarly, most people recognize that irrespective of those deficiencies, Miles will be the head coach at LSU for the foreseeable future. All we can do is hope that Miles improves, rectifies his flaws, and leads us to an NC. There's nothing else to be done at this juncture.

If I had a nickel for every "drink bleach", "hang yourself", "you're an idiot", "your a giant pussy" response to a thread criticizing coaching I would have a giant arse pile of nickels. And there are two self appointed Miles knights that post those genius retorts in every single thread.
To them, failing to worship the man and daring to criticize him = wanting him immediately fired, which is absurd.
I think most people criticizing are just frustrated as hell at the potential that is being wasted by boneheaded coaching moves, particularly on offense. They want changes and improvement, not to fire the whole staff.
And its called The Rant for a reason. Ranting makes one feel better.
