LSU is a perennial national title contender under Les Miles.

If we can stay healthy next year, LSU will challenge again.

I'm going to go ahead and state this for the record right now:

The levels of delusion of the sunshine pumpers on this board have never reached heights as extreme as they have right now, and they probably will never again reach these levels in our lifetimes. What we are witnessing right now is the absolute peak before the crash.

Hear me now and believe me later...

We won't win it next year with all the player losses and the schedule. The following year we're breaking in a new QB.

Not winning it at least the next two years.

You are proably right. However other schools seem to be able to pull off winning with a first year QB. If Miles would get a real OC then maybe we could see a good first year out of a new starter.

I assume you mean "positigers" in the sense that there are people that actually support the team and don't enjoy trashing the program every chance you get like some of you. But I'm not predicting a "great" year next year. The defense will be in rebuild mode. But lsu has a stacked recruiting class coming in this year. Heavy on defensive talent. 2014 class looks to be even better. So even though we might not have a championship year next year, lsu will be loading up. Anyone who is a fan should be excited about the future.

as long as Saban is at Alabama and Miles is still at LSU, yes. And if the offense stays the same, and the losses on defense and the way the SEC keeps sticking it to us with the scheduling, we may even take a step or two backwards

well our "first year QB" in 2013 is almost assuredly going to be rivers, who will be a RS Junior in 2013

we haven't had that old/experienced of a 1st time starter since 2007 with flynn (lee in 2011 doesn't count b/c of 2008)

Yes. LSU will now be in a epic battle with Moo U. to see who can come in fourth in the SECW. Les is too stupid to realize he has problems with his offense and absolutely refuses to make any meaningful changes on that side of the ball.

being realistic and honest isn't "trashing the program." there is a big difference in the two

we've been loading up. the class with reid/simon/mathieu/etc was supposed to be the class that got us a title

I'm not convinced that rivers will be "the" guy to lead us to another title. I think our next title chance will come from Rettig or Jennings behind center.

With all the underclassmen leaving, did we miss our chance? Its pretty safe to say 2013 begins a rebuilding process

2013 will have it's growing pains, but I doubt it's anything like 2008-2009.

With the amount of talent LSU brings in the window of opportunity is always there.

I'm a positiger and I'm calling 2013 a 9-3 season right now and will be happy if we do better.

Bama is winning it again next year.

And it got us pretty close a year ago. Do you believe we won't have anymore classes like reid/simon/mathieu?

Also that 2011 class had just as much talent if not more than the 2010 class

A few things have to happen for LSU to win another title with Miles:

1. Chavis has to be under contract
2. Saban has to leave Bama
3. A&M (JF/Sumlin) have to leave the SEC

I'm sure you were one bitching about the Chavis hire at first. But I guess it has become convenient to use so you can discredit the head coach.

not at all. that's pretty standard. it's one thing that people can't really criticize miles about

my point was that people always love to bring up the incoming classes as being the difference maker, when we've already had similar hauls

the recruiting isn't being criticized at all
