I saw Luis Guzman entering MSY yesterday as I was leaving

I've never seen a celebrity in an "on-the-street" situation. I questioned if it was even him. I looked. Then looked again.
As he passed me I pointed to him and said, "Guzman?" He said "Yessir. How're you doing?"
And that was it. But in that time right there I was really happy. Some wouldn't think this was a big deal meeting a celebrity. Heck, Guzman really isn't a celebrity...but this was an amazing chance meeting to me because he's a recurring actor in one of my favorite director's films AND he is a principal character in my FAVORITE film. I'm obviously talking about Paul Thomas Anderson and Punch-drunk Love. So seeing him was like seeing a real life connection to films that I've seen numerous times.
Interesting note: When I made it back to my apartment I told my roommate who I saw, and he said he didn't know who that was. I then thought and said, "Have you ever seen Magnolia? He was the game show contestant for the adults that knew all about cheeses and would go on and on." Apparently my roommate watched Magnolia this last weekend with his girlfriend. I said he could watch what was in my DVD collection, and they watched that amazing opera of a story, and Luis Guzman somehow tied it all together.
Have any of you had a meeting that was this close to home in a favorite-film sense?

I really like 'The Freshman". Cooked for and hungout with Matthew Broderick and Sara Jessica Parker two times. I've had dinner and shot pool twice with Morgan Freeman. Met a bunch of others, but spent the most time with them.

Is he as short and ugly IRL as he is onscreen?

I've spoken to Forest Whitaker at MSY and Henry Czerny I hung out with for about a week in Jamaica at a friends wedding

The most fun I have had was with David O'hara who played the role of Fitzy in "The Departed". He showed up at Finn's at 6:45 one Saturday morning to watch soccer. He is a fan of my favorite team and we drank pints together all day sitting at the bar. Really cool guy. Funny as shite.

That sounds fricking awesome. He could've described the carpet for an hour & it would still be awesome.
