Mingo, Simon and Sonic are all locks. That's pretty much all of our junior defensive talent. Gear up for 7-5 boys.
Young defensive talent thrives in the SEC. It's when you have a young offense it matters more. LSU whether you feel the offense blows.. is returning virtually everyone with a Senior QB. That's huge.
Get real with the 7-5 crap.
Simon is not a big loss. Mingo and Sam, sure.. altho some felt they didn't perform up to the hype and LSU has tremendous d line talent coming in.

i too believe that mingo and montgomery can be replaced EFFECTIVELY-Frank Herron is the real deal, as are the guys that played behind them this year. Linebackers are young, but we are deep and they are prototype Chavez linebackers. The Chief will never have a bad defense with players as talented as we have.

list of players from SEC leaving early for NFL draft.
OG Alvin Bailey, Arkansas
QB Tyler Bray, Tennessee
RB Knile Davis, Arkansas
S Matt Elam, Florida
DT Sharrif Floyd, Florida
RB Michael Ford, LSU
WR Justin Hunter, Tennessee
OT Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M
OLB Jarvis Jones, Georgia
RB Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina
DE Corey Lemonier, Auburn
DT Bennie Logan, LSU
CB Tyrann Mathieu, LSU
DE Barkevious Mingo, LSU
LB Kevin Minter, LSU
DE Damontre Moore, Texas A&M
DE Sam Montgomery, LSU
LB Alec Ogletree, Georgia
WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee
TE Jordan Reed, Florida
S Eric Reid, LSU
DT Sheldon Richardson, Missouri
CB Tharold Simon, LSU

The big questions are three juniors: Dee Milliner, D.J. Fluker and Eddie Lacy all from Alabama. Lacy looks to be a 2nd round pick where Milliner and Fluker first round guys.

Minter, Mingo, Montgomery and Ford.
These are killer losses for LSU. If you keep these guys, you go into next season with three legitimate superstars on defense and one on offense.
Next year will be a completely new team, facing tems in Bama and Texas A&M with more returning stars.

Unlikely you schedule a meeting to announce you are staying put. Possible, but unlikely.

Check your facts dude......Bama loses 11 starters and even with Faulk, we lose 9. Don't just make shite up.

Here's a question for those that follow this stuff more closely than me:
How many of the players leaving early have been involved in some type of discipline problems? i.e.: grades, marijuana, something like that?
At this point, so many have declared that it's hard to avoid thinking that there's something going on. I know there are many who would say that something is Miles' play calling and perhaps that could be it. But it seems unlikely to me.
And I haven't heard anything at all about things that usually prompt players to leave like popular coaches leaving.
I'm just wondering if there may be some kind of housecleaning going on or maybe players who have seen others get dismissed who don't want to take the chance.
But of course, maybe it really is just a group that feel they are ready for the NFL and want to start making their money sooner rather than later.

But if they stay at Alabama, the REC would help them get first round money.

I'm actually pretty pissed that faulk is leaving. Missing all this season except for 2 games and just jumping ship...
