Pick a show where a single season brought the entire show down a notch

A lot of shows are very good, but then they have that one arc, or season that keep from being great.
For instance The Shield Season 3- not a ton happened other than the continuation of the MT arc. The Decoy Squad was kind of useless, Wyms was ascended into to her holier than thou county stage.
Without Season 3, The Shield is in the top tier of cable dramas, with it it falls a notch below the big four.

Nearly happened with the second season of the walking dead.

Just about every show on TV during the writer's strike.

Season 4 of Seinfeld. Many people regard it as the greatest single season in TV history.

Although there are some great episodes, the overall camp and silliness of Star Trek's third and final season diminish the brilliance of the first two a bit.

The last couple seasons of the Sopranos for me. It was one of my favorite shows for the first few seasons but its really gotten meh towards the end. I still have two more episodes left but I barely have a desire to watch them. I just don't really care as much about the different plots anymore

Yeah not canning the show after Carrell left has tarnished the reputation of the office.

The Ireland season of SoA. Really, the show stopped being must see TV after that season. I didn't catch a single episode of this past season. I was in another country, but I could have made the effort. Just didn't want to.

24 Season 6. This was the year after the writer's strike. Season 5 was probably the best season of all and they returned 2 years later with this pile.

Heroes Season 3+? It was right after the writers strike I think and the story pretty much just changed completely and it was utter shite from that point forward. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconAngry.gif)

You can't say it brought the series down a notch because the bar hadn't been set yet, but season 1 of Parks & Rec is significantly worse than the other seasons.
I thought this season of The League was poor compared to the rest.

The last two seasons of the League. Show fell off the fricking ladder.
