He knew the day that he killed his old self. He knew his loop was closed and that he got a 30 year retirement if he didn't know the exact day he should've been able to come up with a rough estimate. And the reason they send marks back to the past to be killed is because of tracking devices so any attempt at avoidance would be an act of futility.

rough estimate of what a week, month? I mean does 30 years mean from today (1/1/43) or could it be mid July 2043?

Sounds like he was but whether he was or not he was to Old Joe, that's all the really matters to him.

Did he know his mother was killed by a looper? They couldn't have been the only ones killing people in the past, maybe he figure it out, but for all we know, all he knew is she was killed in front if him and he was angry, alone and had this enormous power. Regardless, I think that was the point, all these actions have consequences, but in the end we all make a choice.
