RE:

I agree on everything except I did not notice many bad penalties last night

Clemson got 6 FIRST Downs on penalties. 6 of LSU's penalties resulted directly in first downs and I'm pretty sure LSU would not have given up all 6 to their offense.

Like the "Non Football Move" penalty. When has anyone ever seen that one called.

Big 10 Officials had it out for the SEC in this one folks.

If we don't commit these penalties:................
That means more chances for us to score and fewer for them to run 100 offensive plays and wear out our offense.

Here are mine:

I pass defense is not very good. DB's are middle of the road at best.

We just completed our 5th year in a row of poor quarterback play. I don't know what else to say about Mett that's been said already.

Our coaches don't do any coaching during the game - other than Chavis.

Les has only 1 game plan - put our players out there and hope we break a big play and get some turnovers.

I better stop there.

People have been making excuses for them, but they are not even average. Poor secondary play.

This is a trend that at some point you have to look beyond the personnel. Is it that this staff can't evaluate talent, develop it or is the offense just that shitty?

For everything that went wrong and all the missed assignments and bad offense all LES Miles has to do is run the football on 2nd and 2 and the game is over. Even if they stop you twice there is not enough time for them to come back with no time outs. I could not believe what I was seeing. Monumental Mistake and Clemson took advantage of it.

My problem is after the Bama game fans said we went conservative on the last drive and all we had to do was throw and ice the game. Stupid coaching decision to run. Today we hear all we had to do was run last night and ice the game away. To me, it's not that either were wrong decisions but lack of execution. Mett had Landry and overthrew him. There was NO guarantee we pick up the first on the ground. They had sniffed that out all night on obvious running downs. Now are the coaches responsible for preparation and getting players ready to execute? Yes. So it all comes back to this ultimately.

Finally, and I know it's been discussed ad nauseam but our offense needs a complete over haul.

This. Even with the other problems of the game LSU could not muster a first down from 2nd and 3. Who thought that throwing two more passes and allowing Clemson to burn NO time outs was the right call? LSU's running game is so predictable they probably would not have gotten those three yards but at least CU would have burned two TO's and had a lot less clock.

Two of three losses this year because they could not get a first down to end the game...

. . . and he's the winningest coach in LSU history with his plan. Nuff said.

Not only did we shite the bed in the absolute worst way, I lost over 4 grand in hard earned money made from betting football all season on that game. I worked my arse off las season to turn one grand into ten grand at season's end only to see it all disappear on 1-9-12.

Well this is your own damn fault. Nice contribution to the thread.

This is bottom line truth. We didn't have the O line to simply "end" games like we did in 2011. And Mett, while showing flashes this season, for the most part struggled in deep passing, decision making and pocket presence.

So are you saying the refs were bad against LSU or the LSU players were at fault for committing dumb penalties? I just did not see our players committing a bunch of undisciplined penalties tonight. Throughout the year yes but not against Clemson. I might agree the refs were bad and def gave Clemson the "high hit" call early and the late PI call, although I don't blame the refs for the loss.
