Now that the initial shock and anger is past me here are my thoughts on what I saw. First and foremost we are very poor fundamentally. Too many missed assignments, missed tackles, and stupid penalties. Some of this is youth but most of it falls on the coaching staff for not holding the players accountable. Second our secondary is simply not very good. I like what I see from the young corners but the safeties are a huge problem. Good in run support but a liability in coverage. Finally, and I know it's been discussed ad nauseam but our offense needs a complete over haul. You cant point to one thing and say its the problem the whole thing is a comedy of errors. I don't understand how anyone can defend it anymore. A prudent person sees foresees danger And takes precautions. The simpleton goes on blindly and suffers the consequences. I think miles is at this point and his future will be determined but what he decides.

This....."The simpleton goes on blindly and suffers the consequences. I think miles is at this point and his future will be determined but what he decides."...is the f'n truth. See it all the time....blind loyalty and fear of change will doom another LSU coach. There is no other choice but change from Miles...can't wait till after another season...it may in fact be too late? Miles will decide his fate by the changes he chooses to make or not...he is officially on the clock...

For everything that went wrong and all the missed assignments and bad offense all LES Miles has to do is run the football on 2nd and 2 and the game is over. Even if they stop you twice there is not enough time for them to come back with no time outs. I could not believe what I was seeing. Monumental Mistake and Clemson took advantage of it.

I'm still not over the Bama debacle last January - and that's where I think everybody should be. I will never forgive him for that stink bomb, as he remains unrepentant and has not to this day fessed up to it. Too much tolerance on this board for bad behavior (and stupid coaching). I was pissed at Miles then, and I'm really pissed at him now. Too much talk about money machines and recruiting. Not enough scrutiny on winning the games you need to in order to be top banana. I love LSU football and I miss Nick Saban. Period.

I agree on everything except I did not notice many bad penalties last night. I know the high hit and the late PI were bad calls.

The passing defense has been mediocre all year

We've read and heard that crap before ... and here we are ... SOS.

We got embarassed last year in the BCS NC ... and this year, spot him a raise and extension ... only to get punked in our bowl game this year ... in the Chicken Bowl ... to Clemson.

Agreed but they stopped us several times on 3 and short bro. Because of our lack of offensive firepower we lost to Florida , BAMA, and Clemson,

same as 11 to bama
same as 09 florida and Bama

btw I hate the alabama program, but I love your image at the bottom play on Dos equis

These are a bunch of kids who had 4 weeks off . Then traveled and had a week to hang out in Atlanta . Was more of a vacation than a serious business trip. That plus shitty play calling but what did you expect ?

1. We will never do anything with Mett at QB. DBs can play at the line on our slow, shorts WRs because even if they get beat deep by 10 yards, Mett will overthrow it. 100% money back overthrow guarantee on all deep balls.

2. Miles and Stud calling plays is terrible. Ever since they took playcalling away from Krags last year to run the JJ offense, we have looked like absolute shite. This season Stud even insisted Krags spend the game in a booth on the field whispering to Mett about overthrows, so he would feel more in charge in the booth. Anything to make coach Zebra Cakes more comfortable.

3. DBs are Big East level. Simon and Mills give 20 yards cushion all night against a team who runs only 8 yard routes. Reid is too busy looking for kill shots to actually do anything productive. If Simon and Reid go pro early, we probably get better in the back end.

4. Tahj Jones is rewarded for getting a 0.1 GPA with a starting spot over Kwon Alexander, who is a better LB than him. Instead of getting Kwon valuable experience, we give 90% of the snaps to a lesser LB who might not even be eligible next year.

5. Vadal Alexander really enjoyed the bowl banquets.

This is me as well. Not only did we shite the bed in the absolute worst way, I lost over 4 grand in hard earned money made from betting football all season on that game. I worked my arse off las season to turn one grand into ten grand at season's end only to see it all disappear on 1-9-12.

I think you CAN point to the offense, If the offense can make a few first downs we win the game

The defense was gassed from being on the field

We lost because we cannot convert on 3rd down- and that is because we don't know how to run 1st and 2nd downs

I don't agree with Maximus often, but this is hard to argue.

This begs the question.... is the offense not in some way the responsibility of some higher authority? Like the Head Coach and the OC? Does the offense just show up on its own and play poorly? Isn't poor play and coaching connected in some way? 2 years in a row?

pretty well sums it up. Will Miles pull the trigger and hire an Offensive Cordinator and stay out of the offense. I dont know.

Pretty evident to me that Clemson was more excited than LSU to be in that game....we've just had too much success in the last few years to be up for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl....
