I had two guns stolen from my locked pickup last night. Was it my fault because I owned them?

Nope. It was your fault for leaving them in your truck.

No, report them to the cops as stolen. you should have the serial numbers or don't bother. good luck, I had one returned a couple years after I reported it from a pawn shop in another state. Had to bail them back thought which I thought was a rip off. When someone pawns a gun the shop checks the serial numbers to see if they are stolen.:

Our house was broken into about 10 years ago when I was a kid. Made off with around a dozen guns. Had serial #'s on the newer ones but never saw any again.

You just made my point...they were locked up in your home but criminals now have them in their possession...sounds like gun control works to me.

It has been over a year since my report was made on one. They were supposed to be traking them down because of the cc and bank fraud from them getting my wifes bank cards. I never heard another word about it to this day after all the paperwork was in.

Exactly. Motherfrickers even stole my first Benjamin Pump and .410. Id loved to have passed them on to my kids. Also the .22 revolver and .22 LR pump my dad inherited from his great uncle were stolen. They were both 60 plus years old at the time. I'm pissed just thinking about it. Have a built in safe now in a hidden compartment.

well if we had gun control, you would not have had those guns in your truck, therefore the criminals would not have had a chance to steal your guns

just sayin'

This feels like a trap.

Or a tarp.

Bastard broke into my truck in the middle of the day at bass pro shops stole my wifes purse and my springfield xd. that was the day that I found out with all the money Bass Pro spent on their building and property, they have ONE camera in the whole damn parking lot so if it is not pointed at you, well you are just SOL, Then to top it off bastards went straight to a red box and rented a couple of movies with my wifes debit card not 10 min after we found out about it.

Was it your fault they got stolen....or are you asking would it be your fault if a violent crime was committed with them?

I don't see how you should be held accountable for what a criminal decides to do with what he stole from you.

Let me try this again. I thought my redneck attempt at sarcasm would be picked up from the get go..however, that was not the case. My guns were stolen and I am mad as hell...and no gun control measure is going to keep a criminal from obtaining a gun.
Yes I was stupid for leaving them in my locked truck but they won't be that easy to steal next time...lesson learned.
