That is the question. First, they drag out the negotiations to get to where everyone said they would be from day 1- $100 million and there's not enough change left over to spend on defense. Surprise surprise!

It's the most important thing the Saints have to address. As a long time fan, I'll be watching all offseason.

I dont think drew will do that

I'm going to set the over/under of how many times we see this thread in the offseason.
I'm going with over/under of 50.
I'll take the over at 58.

He would t give money up but ge nay take more up front. Re-sign and convert some of the back end money into a signing bonus.

Absolutely he will. That's why he held out all offseason until he got the money he wanted. So he could give it back

Not never... He got his money, he sure isnt giving any back

I think we will be doing this with a few players. Knowing how this team works, we definitely aren't going to head into FA no looking to make any moves because of the salary cap. I think we'll do something similar to what the Bucs just did with Nicks and Jackson (turning guaranteed money for next year into a roster bonus), in order to clear space for FA.

Loomis gonna Loomis. There will be cap room. FACT.

Hey, it's this thread again! I was worried all the saintards had all fallen off a bridge or something.

It took him so long to come up with a contract, he wont give up a dollar

It's not out of the realm of possibility that he would restructure and free up money for us this year. He'll still get his full amount, but he's not going to just let the team go to crap around him in the process.

One of the reasons the deal took so long was because both parties wanted to(and did) structure it so that it allowed max possible cap space.

you should go back to lurking

I can definitively say that this isn't going to happen. And there's nothing wrong with that. I'm almost postiive that this isn't even an issue that Loomis has considered for this offseason.

No, but I wish Peyton would....In no way did he deserve to be the highest paid coach in NFL with what has gone on the last 2 years.
It happens to alot of franchises, and it looks to be going on here. All the major players get big deals and it eats up the money used to get others of quality and therefore the team is weakened.
That why New England is so damn good, they are masters of using money/trades/drafts to keep team going. Even them though struggled early on D, but seem to have gotten better thru the year.
