Don't try and show anyone how it's done. Go out and have a good time period. WAY past trying to show how it's done. RSBD I'd be happy to fish anytime, can never have too many fishing buddies.

I'll be in Venice except for Christmas eve and day until duck season ends or I decide to run up and go deer hunting. Come over and have a beer now if you like.

We are off about 40% from our normal average for this time of year.

This is what I heard. My family that lives down there and hunts a lot said it is way off this year.

Do you have a camp down there? I wish I had a job I could hunt for a month. Might need a new career path for that.

Especially for deer. I still have a bunch that duck hunt, goose hunt, and hog hunt.

The Miss River river jump will be short lived because the water that is coming down is due to the reservoir releases from the Missouri River to help barge traffic. The Missouri River is no longer releasing water so the 5.7 to 6 ft jump will fall back to 2.5 the first week of Jan. Fishing should continue to be dynamite in Venice.

Don't know that any of you are still on but I'm waiting on the rain to quit before I head out to hunt.

I have a camp down here but somewhat live here. I hunt and fish about half the days of the year here. Hopefully the trout will move back in when/if the river comes back down. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. A lot will depend upon the rain up north the rest of the year.

Venice has been can't miss. However the river is rising as I type this. Headed down tomorrow afternoon may still be able to catch trout in the river for a bit but it's going to be over real quick if it's not done now.

over the last few weeks you pretty much have to not have a clue how to fish to not catch fish in venice, especially if there's a tide...you could basically fish along the river and catch a limit...don't think the rise will absolutely kill it, you should be able to still catch em in deeper holes
