You would have to be at Academy, Cabelas, Walmart very early when the weapons arrive in order to buy one.

Colts, Windham, Smith & Wesson are good ones, I dont mind Bushmaster for someones first. I personally wouldn't recommend CMMG or DPMS, but others may.

And they are available in 5.56/.223, but that's still a .22 diameter round, just a larger cartridge. I said that to another poster because I reserve the term "high powered" for .30 caliber rounds, that's all.

sorry I dont know anything about ammo size.

I just know shotgun shells

what are some.prices im.looking at for a first time.ar and specific ar models?

Cabelas had 3 AR's on the rack Thursday. And I heard the clerk say they had more in the back.
