but we will all absolutely lose some kids now to ATM that would have been leaving TX in years past
That would be the case if they were still in the Big 12 and were good. There are a ton on LSU grads in Texas and more and more regular students from Texas going to LSU. I see no reason to think we will not keep getting 2-4 guys on avg from Texas. This was not a big year for the positions we needed. Recruiting is about who you get, not who you don't.

why are you whining when it is obvious you haven't even looked into why we signed noone from tejas this year. in fact, maybe you should look into why we haven't signed hardly anyone from there is the last few years. a hint; coaching changes, recruiting service fiasco, etc.
however, we have signed big recruits from other areas.
a&m currently has 34 commits. 34. they won't be able to keep them all by the way.

Texas recruits are a bit overrated. That is all!

not all of them but i have to agree there is some sort of "texas effect". a lot of texas kids we have signed have not met expectations; good players but not what their hype suggested.

AtM will likely take over 2nd place in the west in the near future IMO.

You people are delusional. We picked up recruits from California, Georgia, North Carolina and about 4 other states all 4 stars. That is amazing. Texas A&M is wrecking shop though in recruiting which sucks

besides Seals-Jones,
Never really had a shot with him anyway.
Texas fricked him so he wanted to get back at Texas by going to A&M.
Also, we never really had a shot since he is a WR. We will lose on every WR to A&M. It's just the offensive style.

Christian LaCouture is really a TX kid.
LaCouture wouldn't surprise me if he switches to A&M last minute a la Shiro Davis to UT last year.

You rather the staff reach for TX kids over bringing in studs like Herron, Neal, and Gilmore?
THIS. SInce Les got here, our recruiting in GA, SC, FL, and Memphis has increased considerably, although our TX recruiting has gone down. But that's okay, I think there's more talent in the Southeast than there are players in TX willing to go to LSU.

Our Texas haul next year could be our GOAT

You have obviously not been following recruiting this year.

i never felt he was coming here even before tamu's big season.
i'm pretty satisfied with this year's class if things hold.

anybody who thinks Texas A&M joining the SEC didn't help them in recruiting and didn't hurt us is kidding themselves
this...bigtime. we need to re-establish our presence in etex next year. the SEC didn't need atm...but the bama boys in the SEC offices did. anything that weakens LSU strengthens bama. hopefully what we lose in etex is replaced by local kids. by no means is the sky falling but it is essential to keep recruiting the Houston/Dallas corridor effectively.

1. You were not the only one who said that.
2. Texas is a huge state with many universities. It will be okay.
3. We had no imput on the decision

Les Miles and company will always find their recruits. It will just require more effort to work east TX than before but LSU now recruits nationally. Arkansas, on the other hand, has absolutely nothing to offer TX kids anymore. They will have to further sift through the OOS leftovers and the JUCO ranks to fill their rosters. Arky, Texas, OU, OSU, TTU, and Baylor have the most to lose right now.

But not for the E. Texas kid that wants to play bigboy football in the SEC and stay close to home! That used to be our get for sure. Now...we have to go bare knuckles with the aggies.
