Based off statistical analysis is
Stoke City's Asmir Begovic
Begovic is tied for most minutes played (Every game played) @1440 along with Cech, Hart, Jaaskelainen, Schwarzer, Al Habsi and Howard.
Begovic has the most clean sheats out of any keeper in the EPL at 8. Hart and Cech are tied for 2nd with 6.
Begovic really impresses in his Shots Faced to Goal Allowed Ratio at a whopping 16.25. He has faced 195 shots this year which is more than Cech, Hart, both of Arsenals keepers combined, both of man utd's keepers combined, Cesar, Krul, Howard, and both of Tottenham's keepers combined amongst others. In fact, only 5 keepers have faced more shots then Begovic.
To compliment his high shot faced, he has only allowed 12 goals this year, 2 of them off of PK's. Regardless of the high shot count he's faced, he's allowed less goals then Cech, Hart, or Howard. Pepe Reina at only 1080 minutes played has allowed 16 goals.
Stoke City are in 9th place with 5 wins and 8 draws. Without Begovic, they could possibly be facing relegarion.

Interesting stuff. They need a goalscorer now that they have the best GK and right back in the league.

Cool. I have been impressed with Ruddy from Norwich as well this year.

Meh, up for debate. Stats don't tell the whole story. I'd venture to say that a large percentage of shots Begovic has faced has come from beyond the 18 due to Stoke's defending style.

Plays for Stoke so...thug POS.

Just call it statistics. You need more than a half a year sample size for any real analysis. Not to mention team line-ups vary blah blah blah.
Basically what I'm saying is it's really hard to compare athletes with just numbers. I'd say it's foolish to do so.

Pretty cool. I would contend that Lloris, Hart, and Cech are the three best keepers, but you cannot argue that Begovic is having a terrific year.
Also, do you have any way to measure the difficulty of shots on goal faced? 16.25 is an impressive ratio, but the context also matters. 16.25 lollipop saves per goal is fine and dandy, but I would bet it is partially to attributed to facing relatively easy shots from a vicious Stoke defense and playing on a shite pitch (on a Tuesday night in the rain against Messi of course).
