Diablo 3 and Windows 8

Recently got a new laptop with windows 8 on it, more than meets the specs for the game, but the install with the disk stops at 0.2%, what, if anything can I do to install? Is it a windows 8 problem?

Still having problems? Try finding the setup.exe file in the cd and run it as administrator. Can also try disabling your firewall or antivirus program. If I recall, D3 tries to download the patches as you install. This could be causing the problem.

Yeah, I just can't seem to get it to work, I'll try that though. Tried the D3 forums and the admin guy was zero help.

Are you getting any errors? If so, Have you checked event viewer?
Also I did a quick google search and saw half a dozen various "fixes" for different people, have you tried these solutions?

No errors, most of the searches I have done have only shown fixes for people who upgraded from 7 to 8.

Download the Download Client from Battle.net
Worked fine for me but I also never used a CD to download the game.
