watching Texas play UCLA. He looks very good for a freshman. Not sure if he has played this good all year or if today is an anomaly but he would have been a great player for us. Dang shame Trent missed out on him and Rico

He's been ok, but not great. We also already had 2 sub 6' guards on the roster, so we didn't pursue him all that hard.

Disagree. For a freshman I think he's been fantastic.

He would have been a huge pickup for us right about now with Hickey gone for an undetermined amount of time.

And yeah, Felix has definitely had his struggles this year. I would hardly call him "fantastic" but solid definitely. He cant score, but he does dish it out well.

Felix has easily been the best Louisiana kid from the 2012 class.

Better than Rico? Rico was pretty impressive vs. UK.

I'm not going to lie and say I've seen each of their games, but looking at what I've seen plus the stats of them both. Felix is getting a ton of minutes and plays a far larger role than Gathers. He's doing very well, while making some mistakes as well.

Yea right man they lost the game missing wide open dunks and layups

Felix is getting those minutes because Kabongo is out. Long term, a distributor that can run an offense has more upside than a 6'6" PF in an offense with a bunch of longer guys. So I expect that Felix will have a bigger long term positive effect on Texas than Rico will for Baylor.
Felix's ceiling is higher because he can always improve on his offensive game, his floor vision, and his decision making. That gives him the edge over Gathers, who will not have the ball in his hands on every possession over the next couple years.

Why the sarcasm? Did I say something out of line?

I'm pretty sure all 5 of us basketball fans on the rant understand the game pretty well.

He's been quite abysmal for Texas this year. I'd love to see some Efficiency ratings. No way y'all think he's been good so far.

Felix is playing exactly how he finished his SR yr @ AUG: Slow, indecisive, & poor execution... We should have had back to back state titles
He needs to stop second guessing and bring back his fast break play he displayed as a JR to this Texas squad... They are all too slow...
Heard Deion is playing slightly better @ Richmond though...
