Pretty much beyond our control. Ten-and-two should rate better than the CFA Bowl; I doubt this is the team's goal at the beginning of the season.

He's gone and isn't coming back. Go pull for Bama if your Saban love is so strong.

Sounds like liberals.

These are the “fans” that predict and cheer LSU losses
There are definitely many LSU fans ("negatigers" if you have to give a label) that think that LSU is/has under-"performed" under Miles (if a genius gets all 90's vs everyone else's 80's, is he really performing up to his capability if he could/should be getting upper 90's/100's??? akin to the talent pool & resources at LSU).
But if you really think there is a significant number of "fans" that cheer for LSU losses, you're a f@cking idiot!
Recognizing & being frustrated with under-performance and cheering for failure are apples and watermelons.
The fact that so many blind Miles supporters can't understand this used to be frustrating. Now it's comical.

This is what I can't understand as well. If you're in Love with Saban, like his coaching style, etc., just become a BAMA fan and be done with it. Why punish yourself pulling for LSU if you don't like the coach.

simple journalism .. short, concise, to the point, and communicated with brevity .. you don't write a sports column like you are writing a term paper to impress the old professor on The Paper Chase .. it is a question of style, not scholarship .. now, don't hurt yourself climbing off of that horse ..

And he still used a "Fifth Column".
Warner is comparing the negatards to this Fifth Column, get it?
Yes, I understood the reference. You obviously didn't understand mine.

Sorry I'm young and have the entitled attitude that we should win SEC/National Championships every year - you know, sort of like those bama fans we love to hate.
You old geezers need to stop wanting to be just better than our shitty decade of the 90s. Sorry, the Chick-fil-a bowl doesn't cut it for me and I laugh at the old brokedicks who are elated because its better than what Hallman achieved.

frick .. a 6-6 regular season record tops anything Hallman achieved .. so, are we supposed to be thankful for just that if it ever happened ??

I'm content with the LSU Tigers whether we go 12-1, 10-2, 9-3 or 8-4 and go to a good bowl game. I'm content, as long as Coach Miles is at the helm.
Holeeee Shite!
Blind Miles supporter = Blind Obama supporter
You got a Obamaphone too?
This is exactly the thinking that "negatigers" and all people who work to be the best can't comprehend.

These old guys would say yeah because "you just don't remember how bad it use to be".

Warner isn't writing a sports story. He's writing an editorial opinion piece--perhaps the last bastion of moderately erudite writing in what's left of the journalism profession.
Students in "The Paper Chase" were in law school at Harvard. They didn't write term papers, at least not in Kingsley's class.
Succinct enough for you?

Dude.
Any basic composition teacher will tell you that if you can convey your message in fewer words, then so much the better. Spouting off ten dollar words might sound impressive to some people, but when you can get your point across in a simpler manner and don't, it comes across as bloviating. Brevity is the soul of wit.

i VERY much remember the Hallman days .. and the tail end of the Archer days .. and no, i don't want to go back there .. so, expecting my teams to compete for and win SEC and National Championships is one HELL of a buffer from ever having to live through that again ..

and i am approaching it from a journalistic standpoint, which Warner is obviously trying to do to ... it is a SPORTS column .. not a Harvard thesis .. know your fricking audience ..

I hate labeling when it comes to politics, and I hate it right here too.
There are certain Republicans who want to label ANYONE who doesn't want to completely blow up the government, let businesses do absolutely anything they want, and completely get rid of taxes on the rich as "liberals."
It's the same here. Anyone who doesn't support LSU to the end and is willing to acknowledge mistakes as a "negatiger."

he's an author with a number of books written about sports and the Southeastern Conference .. he writes these things in here in hopes that someone at ESPN will send the link to Bill Simmons at Grantland .. it is a sports column .. lay off the pseudo-intellectual crap as a vehicle for soothing whatever it is that dinged your self esteem ..
