In the past 10 or so years, have you ever been this disappointed in a bowl game?

I started really following LSU fball in 2001, when I was a freshman...
2001- sugar vs Illinois ( I was super stoked)
2002- cotton vs Texas (pretty excited... Game was disappointing though)
2003- BCSNG vs OU ( duh)
2004- Capone vs Iowa (was excited, first Capone invite)
2005- chicfila vs Miami (after getting drubbed by UGA, I wasn't looking forward to playing Miami, but was very happily surprised)
2006- sugar vs ND (stoked)
2007- BCSNG vs OSU (you tell me)
2008- chicfila vs GT (down year, but was cool with the matchup)
2009- Capone vs penn st (excited till I saw the feild)
2010- cotton vs ATM (very excited)
2011- I won't mention but I was excited.
2012- for the first time, I'm really disappointed about LSUs bowl. Looking back, LSU has played some great schools in their bowl matchups, and this years really sucks. I guess I'm lucky though, that this is the first time, but damn this season has been disappointing. I'd put it up there as most disappointing above all previous years- all things considered.

Disappointed is an understatement. After all the hype going into this year and we end up in the Chick-fil-a Bowl... No doubt most disappointing season in the miles era, and im going to save how i feel about his raise and extension too..

I would have preferred seeing us in the Cotton Bowl against Oklahoma just because some friends are Sooner fans.
LSU's record and season has no justification on why we are in such a low bowl.
LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M, and South Carolina all got screwed by a stupid rule. All 4 teams are BCS worthy.

He just went 10-2 and we barely lost to Florida and Alabama. Yea we probably should have beat both. The coaching staff is getting very little credit for a impressive job on a injury ridden team with a lot of tough games.

He just went from preseason top 3 to the chic fil a bowl and barely beat the worst auburn team in over a decade and 2 other vastly inferior teams in ole miss and arkansas. Yea we probably should have lost to all 3

If 10-2, ranked at #7, and playing in a bowl for a shot at a Top 5 national ranking is the most disappointed you know as a LSU football fan, you are one lucky sucker.

Wow I've never said this to anyone the years I've been on this board. But GTFO with that.
We won the games.
Preseason Top 3? Yea we are 8 in the BCS. You are acting like we are unranked.
If the rule of only 2 same conferences teams thing wouldn't be in place then Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, or possibly South Carolina are maybe in a BCS Bowl.

After all we lost because of injuries, Mathieu, and players from last year. Losing Faulk proved to be a tremendous loss. Also a 1st year starter at QB, I'd say we are fortunate to finish with 10 wins and heading to the CFLA bowl. This season could have gone a lot worse had we slipped up against Auburn and Arky.
In the last 10 years, has the SEC had as many 10 win teams for the tie in's to select from before? The SEC was loaded at the top this season.

that's the problem right there. many LSU fans are delusional as hell. mett became the messiah before he played a single game. losing RR, TM7, Mo Claiburn and our best DL was not even considered to be a problem with many fans. i knew they would be tough to replace and i didn't know what to expect of mett. then the key injuries started further decimating key positions. overall, miles and co. did one of their best coaching jobs this year and damn near pulled it off. just fell a little short and unbelievably it was the defense, who had carried us all year, that blew it. shite happens.

You can be critical of the team falling short of expectations. I'm sure they'd all tell you that not winning the west is a disappointment. But when you start throwing around bullshite like you did in the statement I quoted above, it's really hard to take you for anything other than a complete dumbass or a retarded troll.

I would have been excited about that.
LSU vs tex/OU in cotton I would have been excited about.
LSU vs Nebraska in Capone I would have been excited about.
But to matchup against Clemson? That is a slap in the face. Clemson is a joke program, and this feels like we are taking a step backwards.

Stormed the field after the 1995 Poulan Weedwhacker Indy Bowl - my senior year.
Friend of mine bear-hugged Allen Stansberry, picked him up and started running around the field with him.
Am I disappointed with a 10-2 season, a trip to Atlanta and a matchup with Clemson on New Years Eve?
HELL NO!

Did you attend the spring game? Mett looks ready to lead this team and didn't plan out during the season... Its all coaching. Why cant LSU develop a solid QB??? im dying to know the answer

And lost the Alabama and Florida games. Yet somehow it's ok for you to talk about how we should have won those games. Are double standards part of your everyday life? Or do you just selectively apply them on here?

Yes, preseason top 3. Even #1 according to some. Is there something you don't understand about that? Because I can't think of another possible reason for you to question that. And please, direct me to any comment I made referencing or even implying LSU in unranked.

I don't get it. Was the 2 team rule not in place before the season started? Did LSU, Georgia, A&M, or possibly South Carolina not know about the rule? We're their university presidents not included in the formation of the bcs? If your answer is no to all of these questions, then what is your point?

Did you not see Mett's development and progression throughout the season?

Tell me how the statement I made that has your jimmies all rustled is any less true/appropriate/valid/fitting/whatever you want to call it than someone else saying LSU should have beaten Alabama and Florida.

No matter what, nothing could match the disappointment of the outcome of last year's bowl game, so this is nothing.

I remember the huge excitement of being in the 2000 Peach Bowl. Fast forward 12 years and the same bowl is a considered a disappointment. The last decade of success has spoiled me and most of the fanbase but heck I'm glad we are in the golden era. Just see Miami, USC, FSU, VT, Texas, Auburn and countless other teams fall by the wayside in the same period.
