Alleva actually said this in the presser.

Here's what Alleva said.

quote:

"Our intent was to address his contract following this year's bowl game, but speculation about other job opportunities accelerated our process a little."

I didn't hear Alleva and didn't know what he said until you mentioned it. I knew it was going to happen from someone in the mix, plus he hadn't had a raise in years. He might have gotten more due to the Arky business, but the raise was already coming and probably the extension in some amount of time. The man is 60 and he doesn't want to be moving around right now. This isn't rocket science.

Here's the link for the naysayers.

So, Les Miles leads LSU to a 13-1 record with a loss in the BCSCG and he gets no change to his contract.

He goes 10-2, no SECW Title, no SECCG, no BCS game much less a BCSCG, no news of anything. Arkansas rumors start and within 24 hours he gets a raise and extension.

Yeah, but they were working on that all along.

I heard Alleva tell that bold face lie live. I seriously cannot believe any intelligent adult would believe that.

They should've given Miles a raise last year. They didn't, Arkansas called and Les took advantage. I'm happy for him.

Doesn't matter to me what you believe. I know what I know and it's not a guess. I don't come here and spill everything I know about. Wasn't a surprise. It's all a done deal, so it doesn't matter whether it was or wasn't going to happen. It has.

Les puts us in the best position to compete for NCs. Our teams have never been this "damn strong" for this long. Some years we make those field goals, some years we win by running on 3rd and 4th, we are a few plays from playing for it again this year. How many fans would love to say that. I like our position with Les.

for what? he's never won a national championship with his own players. In fact we've watched blow national championships due to his own decision making. Puzzled!!!!!

While I think Miles has his weaknesses, I have always respected him as a man of integrity and loyalty.
I lost respect for him today .
If he can go for the money, he will, even if he made commitments for less.
BUT, he was just doing what we allowed him to do.
Or, more accurately, what Alleva allowed him to get away with.
The blame here is squarely on our AD, who was played like a violin.

Name one coach out there who would have done different and I will show you one who made a more bonehead decision than Miles has ever made.

The risk far outweigh the rewards here.

He does make things interesting, though

7 years. So, 2013-2019. That would be his 15th season as our HBC.

A raise ya say and - what for - really - what the hell has Les Miles done for LSU - nothing. The superior talent that Miles has inherited had little to do with his pedestrian performance as Oklahoma State Coach.

The way he mangled what might have been the greatest championship history at last year's NC, is disgusting to this day.

Sure, his press conferences are amusing but we don't need to get an amateur clown for unintended comedy - and he is paid quite well to certainly be a clown.

Pitiful and pathetic - I would have loved to see him go to Ar-Kansas period and I'm hardly the only person who thinks that. Let him play conservative and position for field goals at Ar-Kansas - while making stupid moronic game day decisions repeatedly.

I have always understood a personal services agreement as being a mutual commitment to abide by its terms for a term.
And because indentured servitude is frowned on nowadays, the service provider is free to withdraw and go elsewhere, subject to some limitations, like non competes.
These circumstances require the "lessor" to place agreat deal of trust in the service provider.
College coaches, athletes and entertainers are not exceptions to these rules.
Renegotiations can take place, but normally only under extraordinary circumstances.
If some TAF money folks wanted to give Les a gift, that's fine.
Otherwise, Les and Alleva disserved LSU.

No respect for an arse that treats a kid with character - ie - Jared Lee - in the manner he was treated. Calling out that Gunther QB kid from Indiana was also amateurish and 8th grade-like pettiness.

He is a moron - and only a moron would not recognize that.

Happiest person who got the biggest laugh at Arkansas privately - Nick Saban.

Nick Saban probably hoped he'd take it to get even more money for himself.

Please see my sig. You and nitwit and slackhouse fit the mold.
