quote:
Gordon's meniscus (fibrocartilage) is fine, so he's clearly having problems with his hyaline cartilage (or articular cartilage), which is what covers the tips of your bones and provides that smooth glide in the knee joint. What hasn't been said is if it's the articular cartilage covering the tip of his femur, tibia or behind his patella (knee cap
So basically this guy is making these assumptions based on reports he has read online, right? I'm guessing he hasn't personally examined Gordon, so he is just trying to put it together from various sources. Given that, he really has no idea what Gordon's medical situation is. Especially since there are conflicting reports to the extent of the damage and the best course of treatment.
quote:
Gordon is doing the right thing. He's strengthening the quad, which is major to the health of his knee joint. He's also giving his knee rest, which is clearly what it needs. I think it's good that he hasn't played on this, making it worse
How does he know? I'm guessing this guy has medical training, but how does he know that it doesn't need or require additional surgery (like first reported)? We went through the same thing last year and it ended up being something worse than originally reported.
quote:
It sucks, but it is what it is. People will just have to be patient. He'll come back 100% and avoid any future problems if he stays patient
This is just plain horseshite. I can be as optomistic as the next guy, but no one can say he will ever 100% again with any degree of certainty. Plus how does he know he'll never have future problems? No one can know that..

I've talked smto some docs, and you can make inferences about what is wrong based on what you've seen him do in terms of prrformance on the floor.
I read this as a supported theory, not fact.
It makes sense.
Other stuff does, too.
I try to ignore reports based on hearsay, team communications included.
