Sig all day every day.

That is not a "Sig" like you think it is. That is an entry level gun with "Sig" stamped on the side.
Edit: that RIA is a cast frame not milled. You will not want to spend a lot on tricking it out.

Yep. I'd take the M&P 9. But, I am less and less a fan of .40 as I go on.
BTW, I'm a Sig guy. If you had a 229 or 226 it may be a different story. That said, for reliability, performance and value, M&Ps/XDs/Glocks are tough to beat.

What's the deal on 40 cal, keep hearing weird references to the round.

Many swear the .40 has more stopping power. I've read a lot and am not sold though not sure, either.
Given the fact that the unexpanded diameter of a .40 S&W is less than 5 hundredths of an inch greater than a 9mm, I don't see how it can be THAT big of a difference.

Moreover, I just don't enjoy shooting it. 9mm is cheaper, and tech has resulted in some very reliable SD/HD 9mm rounds. I'm trying to consolidate to calibers I enjoy shooting. Plus it is easier for keeping ammo on hand, obviously (and for reloaders).
Depending on the weapon, I generally prefer shooting .45 over .40 too. I know a lot of guys who feel similarly.
Your chances of ending up in a gunfight are obviously extremely small. The chances that you wouldn't be able to do the job with well placed 9mm JHPs and that a .40 round would be the difference is pretty much beyond measure. Get what you like and what you will practice with.

It's a high pressure round and has more recoil impulse and muzzle flip than 9mm and .45 ACP.
I am indifferent to it. I think .40 and 9mm could both stop someone dead as long as you can connect. Accuracy is more important than the never-ending 9mm vs 40 vs 45 speech.
If you get the M&P, I would strongly suggest the .40 for the reason I mention earlier in this thread. But CZ also makes some sweet guns. Hell, just buy them all.

CZ is in transit, I'll post a pic when the tac light and gun get together later this week.

CZ or Sig would be my first choices.
