Duck hunters vs. Fishermen debate

I'm currently trolling the shite out of this duck hunter that feels entitled to a section of marsh that is evidently accessible by boat.
Dude was complaining about a boat being within 70 yards of his blind saying fishermen have all that water to fish so why fish right by his blind.
Where's the OB stand on this issue?

why is he hunting 70 yards from where boats can pass freely?
if he ain't on private property.... that's his problem.
if he is... different story.
fishermen passing through one pocket save our day yesterday

I don't really care one way or the other, but I sure do like to heckle at anyone who wants to whine on the interweb.

unless you do both people are going to have a biased opinion...what marsh? was it leased? public land? usually marsh is not considered navigable water (at least that's what i've learned in bayou black anyway) if public land, the duck hunter doesn't have a leg to stand on, guess it would fall more on the "what's ethical" side...i wouldn't expect ethics to take precedent on the sportsman

I avoid hunters when fishing. It's a limited time of year. He can't move. I just think it's the right thing to do.

I have to disagree with most of y'all in this one. While I'm not gonna cuss you out for it, I'd be pretty irritated.
With decoys out, it's obvious where he is. You do have tons of other water to fish. He got there way before you did and he can't just pick up and move like the fisherman can. He's kinda invested his morning on that one spot. Fishing ain't like that. Kind of a dick move. Just go fish somewhere else. Not like he's sitting right on your honey hole or something. It's public land. He got there first.
It's not a rights issues since its public land, just thought it'd be common courtesy

I can get behind this. Good point on a topic I've never considered.

I avoid them too, as I don't really like being shot at/towards/near, but I can see a situation where someone wouldn't. The duck hunter is going to argue that he pays for a lease and has been hunting there forever, brought someone hunting as a favor, etc. But the fisherman also woke up at 3:00, put $100 of gas in his boat, and $100 in his truck, and $75 of bait. It too, might be his only spot he knows how to fish. It's a two-sided argument.
Personally, I don't like fishing or hunting anywhere near another person. Moving spots is worth catching less fish in order to have the solitude, for me.

This. You know where he is, and you're a douche for even being in the remote area of him hunting IMO. You can fish all year man, duck season is only a few months. Just stay away and find another fishing spot.

I wouldn't fish near him either but there's plenty of entitled pricks out there

He has no 'right' to feel entitled to any public land but I've always looked at public land as "first come, first serve."
He's there first. I'd go fish somewhere else.

So,there's absolutely no chance the fisherman could have been going to that spot for days before the duck hunter set up?

doesn't matter, you can correlate that to the building of blinds on public land issue...you can't reserve spots, public land is first come, first serve

And the duck hunter is supposed to know that how......?
You beat me to that area in the morning, ill go setup my spread somewhere else. But if I throw out all my decoys and get settled in and you come puttin along expecting me to move because you fished there yesterday, I'm gonna tell ya to eat a dick.
There are a bunch of pricks of all shapes and sizes. Seems like the pricks here are the fishermen.
ETA: haha hold on, how the hell do you expect the hunters to know you fished there the day before? This ain't the yard where you can shite and mark ya territory. How's he supposed to know?

fisherman needs to move on if the hunter was there first - also the duck hunter could just as easily ruin the spot for fishing as the fisherman could for ducks. Have the dog do some practice retrievals or just wade out and adjust the decoys or just be a dick and shoot the water up.
