You know, before attending, I thought all of these chants and gestures were kind of "questionable."
Once I got here and have gone to games as a student in that student section, I have to say that it is actually fricking awesome.
You just gotta be in it. Especially for Bama. Wow.

trashy as hell and an embarrassment to the university
It's nothing new. It's college kids away from home and on their own for the first time for most of them stretching their wings.
Back in the late '60's I was a kid and shocked but amused sitting in the northeast corner about half way up at a Tulane game when the cheerleaders paraded all along the sidelines facing the crowd a large banner the size of a very large bed sheet with a tiger paw painted on it giving the finger and the caption "TUCK FULANE".
That was every bit as racy as STTDB is now. It was just shrugged off as crazy college kids. There were subsequent ones for other big games such as "The Crimson Tide is nothing but a menstrual flow" and others. It was funny, no big deal. It has evolved.

I know this argument is tired on thie website, but, do you really have to be profane to get pumped up?
Seriously, I mean, we can't have Tiger Rag or Neck because of this foolishness. Now I think not being able to have Tiger Rag is stupid but I understand about STTDB being completely inappropriate for the setting.

Did people go to games just to listen to neck?
Seriously, get over it and watch the game.

No but it got everyone pumped up.
And I do watch the games, but I was embarrassed and uncomfortable Saturday, and I didn't even have my wife or child with me.. This time. It's stupid, it's not funny and all it does it take away music that people enjoy at the games.

"TUCK FULANE".
My daughter came home from the hospital in Nov.'87 the day of a Tulane game wearing LSU sweats and a big "TUCK FULANE" button.
