It's simple.

The larger the playoff, the less significance of the regular season.

Yes, with a loss last night LSU would have been out of the postseason, but guess what: LSU doesn't deserve a shot for that anymore anyway.

We took too many losses from injuries that kept us from being NC caliber like we were preseason.

Think about it......in a 8 team playoff, even K-State probably makes their way in.

It makes the awesomeness of yesterday largely ilrelevant.

Only if their awesomeness in the preceding weeks gave them some cushion. Why even have a championship game? Just let everyone play and present their body of work and that's that, i.e., a beauty contest.
