Despite the coaching decisions, still supporting Miles

First of all I have to give Coach Miles and the coaching staff credit for master minding a great gameplan last Sat. I was also very impressed with the aggressiveness and playing style, specially at the offensive side of the ball. To say the least, I am very proud of our LSU Tigers and I am sure this showed what this team is capable of doing.
Anyways, back to Coach Miles. Overall very pleased with his gameplan and it shows that he can outcoach or be up to par with Saban. However, his poor decision of trying for the fake FG, going for 4th and 1, and that onside kick, were totally unnecessary. I agree with Mark May had to say at the post game show, "against a quality team like Alabama, you take the points, not the risk". I agree with this. LSU would have easily scored 23 points in this game, enough for the W. But then again, Coach Miles became too confident with this team, which that is the whole idea.
I bleed purple & gold and will support our coaching staff and team no matter what. I am sure we will have a 11-2 season with a trip to the Sugar Bowl. This should be a great season despite all of our adversities this season.
By the way, is there a GIF of Coach Miles really digging deep in his ear? Classic "screw up" body language.

The only bad decision was the fake FG. Bama's O-line was dominating us, they ran for 6 yards a pop and we couldn't get close to McCarron. With the way Bama's O was playing, I don't mind being aggressiveand trying to keep the ball away from them.
Alabama really hurt themselves by relying too much on McCarron and the fumble in the second half. We played good enough to win, but we didn't lose because of coaching decisions.

The fake FG was 4th and 12, not 1, and a screen toss to the smallest guy on the field without ANY blockers, when Bama had three deep looking for a fake to begin with...no one saw this???...Worst play call ever IMO. The 4th and a foot "Warecat" was second. Bama had 10 stacked in the box, why not let Copeland with a full head of steam try to get the inches

Sure, I disagree with going prevent there. However we got burned on the TD by blitzing, not playing prevent. McCarron was off on his throws all night, except for that final drive where he made perfect throws. It wasn't just the defensive scheme that gave up the TD on that final drive, our D-line couldn't get pressure and McCarron finally made some good passes.
It's not like the D in the second half was pressure based. We played guys back in coverage and only rushed 4.

Attempting a 54 yd fg with 1:31 left in the half was worse. I could see trying it with less than 30 seconds left. The chances of making a 54 yd fg isn't worth the risk with that much time left. Saban would have been content to run the clock out if we had punted.
4th and 1 running a glorified QB sneak with ware was dumb also.

That's kinda the point. We played prevent until they got close THEN decided to blitz. Should been played or play called the other way around. DB's were giving 5 yard cushions all the way down the field. Mc Cry baby didn't do anything great, we just didn't play D like we did all game. Coaching error IMO.

Don't forget, Bama also scored in the last minute of the first half as well. I do agree this was much more costly than the fake FG.
I don't know why we move to this prevent defense, it hasn't worked once all year. We were executing perfectly playing tight coverage, there was still 1:40 left and all Bama needed was 35 yards or so to get into FG range, prevent defense was not the right call, considering it's easy to pick up 10-15 yards at a time and LSU has given up a TD each time we've gone into prevent D.
My biggest criticism of Miles, is that he doesn't change anything until it costs us a game. The offense didn't get better until after the Florida game, and I can assure you Miles now realizes the prevent defense is horseshite. I sometimes wish he would acknowledge problems and solve them before they cost us a game. The prevent defense hasn't worked all year - and there was no reason to think it would work against the number 1 team in the country.

I support Coach Les Miles. I don't agree with all the calls Saturday night but the way the team was transformed in the two weeks previous to the game is a testament to CLM's greatness. Yeah, yeah, I know we should have won. Saturday night was not the first time I have had my heart broken by the "Prevent D". I actually told my brother when we didn't get the first down with less than 2 minutes left, " If we don't go prevent, we got this!!". 
I hope Miles coaches for 5+ more years at LSU.

In hindsight it's easy to point fingers at decisions. The aggressive nature of the calls dictated the way LSU played. Definitely LSU's best game of the season...

Got too conservative instead of putting Bama away. Yes, it ended up leaving the door open, Even the 4th down attempt was just awful

we did leave the door open and i wish we would have thrown the ball on 3rd and 6, but can't fault him for playing the odds and putting our D out there to win it.
