I have been here for two years. I depise them. They take subtle cheap shots every day at me. I hope they get their asses kicked so bad that they will come back to tuscaloosa and poison their own trees.

You ought to see the trolling going on in the SECr right now in a thread concerning hate between fan bases. They all claim that there is no hate for LSU, yet there is some kind of subtle putdown to LSU. They're assholes, it's genetic.

Fred, you must feel like a genius living in Alabama. I've covered the state for my job for 8 years and they are without a doubt, the dumbest populace of any state, and it's not even close.

You are right, it is genetic. That's what happens when they marry their first cousin! :rimshot:

I can relate all too well. I have friends that are Bama fans but those are the ones that don't froth and the mouth while simultaneously beating their chest. Many are just classless tards. Luckily my office is about half Auburn fans. They despise Bama fan just as much if not more. Particularly this year as they have been unmercifully ridiculed.

I have confidence we will win. But if we don't, I do not look forward to the bleating of gump sheep.

To the OP couple things, and they may seem to contradict each other until you think about it:
1) I feel your pain. I'm an Aggie and have lived in BR for 8 years and in Austin for 17... It is hard to live behind that curtain of fandom.
2) If you think that LSU fans in BR (or Louisiana in general) are any better about making things all about the Tigers you are sadly mistaken. I have lived in a couple of other college towns through the years and let me just assure you, Baton Rouge is THE top of the pyramid for biased fans. For example, my firm's reward for exceeding sales quota one year was to get a tour of the new suites, the new work out facilities and upgraded Tiger Stadium by... NICK SABAN!!! Now, this was in 2003 before Nick had become NICK!!!! and before he had become Nick Satan... But THAT was our incentive>>> get to MEET the coach and get a tour. Would have preferred a set of steak knives or a GC to Olive Garden. NOBODY thought it was weird. EVERYONE (but me) was excited.

Not bizarre its just more like pitiful but typical.

I went to a Nicks kids charity function one time back this past July at the stadium. There were about 500 underprivalged kids there and one of Nicky's little "stooges" came out on the podium and told all of them there that they had only about 20 mins of his time to take a picture with him and his wife. 500 people in 20 minutes are you kidding. This is his charity. What an a-hole!! I guess watching football film on Michigan was more important to him than his own charity. Then the next stooge came out talking about what a great man and example for people and champion that he was. I wanted to throw up right there. What a friggin joke!! Ever since that time I have thought of him nothing more than a general POS. He can win 20 natl titles up here and this is what he will still be....

I live in Alabama, and I'm surpised at how many Bama fans are concerned. Nearly every one of them I've talked to is concerned that Bama hasn't been tested yet. I'm shocked.

My sister in law is the exact same way except in reverse. My brother and her are Bama grads living in the New Orleans area and she says her co-workers have driven her to the point where she actively pulls against LSU. My brother isn't anywhere near as cynical even though he puts up with a lot of the same stuff from LSU co-workers. He's more amused by LSU fans than anything but will general pull for LSU in most games and has nothing at all against LSU. He is a more traditional Bama fan in that Auburn and Tennessee are WAY more disliked by him than LSU. They both stay very low key about their Alabama fandom and won't even fly an Alabama flag in their yard or let their young kids go to any pre-school/elementary school functions with Bama stuff on as it's considered "bad for business". It goes with the territory if you live in "enemy" territory. My brother is an example of going with the flow and not letting it bother you while my sister in law takes an approach similar to yours.

I feel your pain. If we win-next week will be the best of the year. If we lose-the next two months will be the worst of the year.

I don't get the hate for Auburn fans, though. Except for 2010, they've always been realistic, and bearable, I can actually talk football with them. They don't base their self-worth and the worth of others based on the college football team they choose to root for. Bama fans can't say that. It violates the tenants of their cult.

I've personally found their fans who have never even set foot in Tuscaloosa are the worst. Those who went to college there are much more laid back.

I completely agree with this statement. I am surrounded by bandwagon bama fans and I assume they are overly outrageous based on the fact that they never went to school there nor lived in the state....go figure!
