2011 was the most amazing year of my life as an LSU fan. We went into the season with a lot of controversy and adversity while staring down arguably the toughest schedule that any LSU team had ever faced. However, week in and week out that team physically dominated every team that they played. Even going into the November 5th game at Alabama in which most pundits didn't give the Tigers a serious chance, I KNEW that we would be on top when the last whistle blew. I didn't know how to explain it but all I could say was that that team had "IT". Some called it confidence, others called it "swag". I don't care what IT was, but it was obvious that it was special. Then there was 1/9/12... As painful as it was to watch Bama raise that crystal ball, the fact that they had taken IT from us hurt even worse. Giving credit where credit is due, they earned IT.

Fast forward to the past few months and it's obvious that Alabama has used IT to their advantage. They have dominated everyone, while we have played to the level of our competition no matter who we have played. Is it because they are more talented?? Of course not. More well-coached? No. I have seen flashes of brilliance from every unit on this team at some point this season. However, we have failed to put it all together for 60 minutes. Why is this?? Because we lost IT in New Orleans on January 9th. Well LSU fans, IT'S TIME TO TAKE "IT" BACK!!!

It's time to play with that confidence and swagger that broke the will of 8 ranked opponents 1 year ago. It's time to make Bama and the rest of college football remember why there is no place like Saturday Night in Death Valley and prove that it's truly "a place where opponents dream come to die". It's time to make everyone realize the potential that this team has exhibited all year in one 60 minute football masterpiece. It's time to put ourselves in control of our own SEC destiny and in the thick of the National Championship hunt. It's time for redemption... It's time to take IT back.

I can't wait until we shock the college football world Saturday. I can't wait to bury the doubt and controversy that has plagued this team since January. I can't wait til we get back to playing with the confidence and swagger that made 2011 special. It's truly the missing ingredient to take this team from a "very good" team to a CHAMPIONSHIP team! The road to redemption starts Saturday people... Hop on and enjoy the ride!

Great post. It's too bad you lost to Florida and Florida lost embarrassingly to Georgia. Now you need help to get into the Championship Game just like Alabama did last season. What will you Tiger Fans say if you do get help? Will you be fair? Will the Alabama haters take back their backed into the championship arguments? The argument can be made that LSU did the same in 2007? In both cases, the team that "backed in" dominated.
