re: Disney to buy Lucasfilm, Star Wars Episode 7 for 2015

Hamill Fischer and Ford are all the appropriate ages to adapt the New Jedi Order.
Do the three big arcs as movies. And you could fill in the gaps with the Stars Wars TV show or web extras.
Star Wars Episode 7 - Legacy of the Force.
Star Wars Episode 8 - Rebel Dawn
Star Wars Episode 9 - The Unifying Force.
Make Jacen and Jaina the "main" characters. We would need a set of teenage male/female paternal twins.

haha, its not just about the movies. the licensing/crossover marketing, ILM business generates hundreds of millions. combine tthat with Disney's ability to integratet the brand across mulitple businesses 10 years from now this could look like a steal at $4B
A Star Wars Theme Park would recoup that easily.

They are definitely moving on from Han, Luke and Leia if that is the case.
Moving on...yes.
But the Vong timeline allows for transition.
By then, Han's and Leia's kids are fricking Jedi knights.

Kathy Kennedy is going to be running Lucasfilm division of Disney
No shite.
I wasn't talking about running the company.
I was talking about the trilogy, IE the director that will have to have most of the vision.
They could have 3 directors, as obviously the original trilogy did. But I would prefer they get someone with some vision to run the creative show, a la Chris Nolan with The Dark Knight Trilogy, Joss Whedon with Avengers, etc.

lulz. Nolan ain't getting involved in this

Do we even know if Hamill, Fisher and Ford would really want to be involved at this point in a big way. Fisher and Hamill are looking pretty rough at this point, and Fisher and Ford have expressed some opinions in the past that they wouldn't be interested.
Then again...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

And you KNOW that Disney is going to add a giant Star Wars themed Park to DisneyWorld.
They already have the Star Tours ride right? I believe that's still active.
LucasFilms and Disney have collaborated many times in the past. LF's subsidiary Industrial Light & Magic did the visual effects/cgi for The Avengers this past year.
Because I already have a nerd boner and I saw this last night, I'll just leave this Pixar rendered image of Superman right here...

Did I say he was? I said "a la Nolan in the Dark Knight Trilogy".
LIKE him doing that. Not Nolan himself. Jesus.

The Star Wars Universe at Animal Kingdom would dwarf the World of Harry Potter.

Actually we could probably go ahead and rule out Nolan for the whole trilogy. He's been jonesing for a Bonds film and the producers are eyeing him for the next installment (also there is rumor around Hollywood that Idris Elba may be considered to be the first black Bond). I could see him doing the first of the trilogy just to get the house in order so to speak.
Whedon will be busy with The Avengers 2 so he's out.
JJ could direct or hell they could go with someone else entirely. Whedon wasn't a big mainstream director before The Avengers but one crack at a big budget production and now he's the hot new kid on the block.

The World of Harry Potter pales in comparison to any one of the Disney theme parks in Orlando. Disney will no doubt build a giant, Star Wars theme park to go along with the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and MGM Studios (or whatever they call it now).

Disney, must be pretty confident, that they have Hamill, Ford and Fisher in the fold.

If lucas is doing story treatments already then it has to be NJO, other than Shadows of the Empire it was the EU property that was closest to Lucasfilms control
Posted on 10/30/12 at 4:33 pm to Bama2010
my guess is lucas is bringing some big ideas and the writers will shred them to pieces and bring them into a real palatable story with vivid characters.
Posted on 10/30/12 at 4:35 pm to Bama2010
I'd rather them start over with it. EP. 7,8 and 9 is kind of stupid seeing as how completely different they will be. Start from scratch Disney with yours being a 1-3 series.

Yeah Lucas has always been better at being hands off. The prequel trilogy would have been better had Spielberg done it.

Spielberg was too busy with Saving Private Ryan and AI: Artificial Intelligence.
