So what's the difference between a perk and a specialization? I see specialization as a perk, just fewer of them to choose from. And once you had squad specializations, you essentially had four perks.
However, I do like that there are few specializations and that you only get one a soldier and to use them to the fullest you have to work together. The specializations don't really seem that important to your play style. That's not the case in CoD...

The specializations don't really seem that important to your play style.
Bottom line, certain types of people will find whatever shitty tactic they can and exploit it no matter what they play. It will be present in every multiplayer. It's the developers' responsibility to limit how much the exploits affect everyone else's experience. IMO the Pick 10 system looks like a good start to returning balance to CoD.
