Its not doing terrible so far. But its only 65% on Rottentomatoes.com

Im hoping its a movie that critics just dont "get". Its 2hrs 43 minutes...so maybe it bored them out.

Still looking forward to it...but was hoping it was AT LEAST in the 80s....that way I would be confident its a good movie.

I see this movie being like Watchmen: you will love it or you will hate it. It will be a heavily divisive film.

I like those kind of movies, the ones that make you think. Going to see it at midnight tonight. Never paid a lot of attention to Rotten Tomatoes anyway, especially the ones from the 'experts'.

Is that how it's set up in the movie? Granted I have not read any reviews, but I was under the impression that it was one segment after the other without constantly jumping from era to era.

I honestly still have no idea, but it has something to do with reincarnation.

It looks cool but I have no idea what the hell, it's about. Commercials do a horrible job of explaining it

Yea I thought it looked interesting, all I can figure is Tom Hanks wants to bang Halle Barry in like 14 different lives I guess

Gonna be a hard as hell book to adapt regardless of the runtime. I'll prob see it but I don't have very high hopes.

I love this type of book/movie though.

It will really depend on how they adapted the book. I've only read a part of the book and had to stop. It's monumentally boring. Apparently the first half of the book is the set up for all these characters in different lives. The second half is the actual story.

I can tell you that one of the major themes, if not THE major theme is the constancy of mankind. Each main character (except one) is in some way the same soul, just at different points in time and each point in time relates the major flaw of man: its predatory, violent, cannibalistic nature.

From the beginning this theme is apparent and the author has specifically said as much.

Oh so it is adapted from a book, thought the matrix brothers came up with the movie idea themselves.

It does to me judging by the trailers. I'm a big Hanks guy, but I think the last thing he did that I thought was realy good was Catch Me if You Can and let's face it, that was Leo.

I thought Ladykillers was underrated.

Forgot about Charlie Wilson's War.

I finished the book a month ago and it was great. The first half can be slightly boring however the second half of the stories are great. The main theme, or at least one of them, is how man has the natural instinct to take advantage of weaker humans. Each story has someone using another character and exploiting them for their benefit.

Six stories go chronologically and then cycle backwards towards the initial first story. It's going to be hard to translate, but I really enjoyed the book.

I lost interest when they kept calling it the new avatar in the previews.
