I've coached Football before and it really comes to the will to win when teams are that close in talent.
Of course it's not always that( see the mistakes USC vs FL)
I feel that Lsu will be out for victory and a measure of revenge . Lsu as noted by others is 47-1 in Saturday night games in T.S.
We have played dogfight games, I feel it helps.
Of course the Passing has to be better.I feel LSU will have the same intensity as 11/5 , 2011.I see a 4th quarter wear down of bama. A 2 to 7 point win.
This victory will rank as one of our best ever .

Great post man. We are more battle ready and we will wear them down as long as we can move the ball in the first half. That's the key to this game

The real question is will we have the chest to pursue that want?

Good post. I like LSU's position as underdog at home with nothing to lose. I've seen LSU play some crazy good games in that position before.

Solid. If the Tigers play hard, they have a good shot. It's at home at night. Been waiting since 1/9 for this.

besides Tiger Stadium it is our biggest advantage. I expect another dogfight and I couldn't agree more that who ever maintains the strongest will....wins.

with the will to execute.

This is a tough game. I think want has little to do with it. Both of these teams will want this desperately.

First: Tiger Stadium is not a big advantage against Bama. In fact, LSU has generally had less success against Bama at home than they have in Alabama over the last 35 years or so. Weird.

Second: LSU must move the ball in the first quarter. I think everyone gets this. Bama will wear down LSU's defense if LSU's offense runs the 3 and out special all day. See Florida game.

Third: LSU is 112 in the nation in passing. This is bad news. Bama can stop the run.

These teams are NOT equal in talent.
O-line - Bama (injuries a big part of this)
WR - Bama
RB's - even
QB - Bama

D-line - even
LB - even (again, injuries hurt LSU here)
DB - even

Of course, it is hard to compare the defenses because LSU's defense is on the field a LOT more than Bama's. If LSU's offense could keep the LSU defense off the field, LSU may rank better across the board on defense. Tough to judge.

We know Minter can tackle.

A win on Nov. 2 would be one of the biggest in Tiger Stadium history.

while op makes some good points I have to say so does Jack-

it will come down to practice, preparation, and coaching- I hate to admit it but the Tide has an advantage in those three-

The only way LSU wins this game is if the LSU coaching staff does their best coaching job of the season-

The team we have seen on the field,a team that does not seem to progress is not a result of players, talent or execution. Kids learn what they are taught- great teachers make great teams-

we seriously lack the fundamentals of execution- that my fellow tiger fans is a result of coaching

CLM needs to inspire his coaches as well as his players to win this game

The staff has out coached others the majority of the time. Miles' record against Saban and other coaches with a championship is great.

The contact that takes place when our defense is on the field will be very sincere.

"majority of the time"
For the kind of money this staff is paid we should expect excellence at all times-

You only have to look on the defensive side of the ball to see the definition of coaching-

Our defense is expected to play offense as well

That my fellow tiger fan is an indictment of poor offensive coaching

To a degree, but I'd say it all comes down to execution.
