Wondered this as well. Seems like he could gain at least 1-3 yards during a few of those scrambles. Any positive yardage is big for this offense.

I am not talking about Mett being a running qb. He is a POCKET passer.

What I am wondering is that is Mett that average or he is not being coached up. And one of the observations that I see is something simple like, if you get flushed & get some yards before going out of bounds, do it. However, he get out going towards the sidelines, & just chunks it like he is so "scared" to make a mistake.

I don't think the OP wanted us to run a QB draw, but it does seem like he'd rather throw it away than gain 2 yards sometimes....
I mean shite, like others have said he was like 3 yards past the line on that penalty and could have picked up at least 2 more before sliding/running OB

Good point!!! So, what's happened this year? That bootleg was with a big a lead. So now, as the starting qb, he has made some mistakes & has the squeeze on him??

This was a very good observation. He was at least fast enough to get 50 yds or so down the field before someone could catch him.

Honestly, he plays it very conservative on the run. I appreciate that. Conservative means no turnovers or injuries.

If he goes for those extra yards we'd all be asking why.

Yea but I mean every QB has to be able to pick up a yard or two here and there on the ground. It ain't like he's Drew Brees...

He wasn't running the boot. He was running away from Les so he couldn't pull him.

First time I saw him, against Ole Miss I think, He took off on a naked bootleg and gained good yardage. Of course Miles yelled at him and sat him down.

TagaMett is scared to get hit. Watch him as soon as the pocket begins to collapse. Particularly, in the middle. He immediately goes into the tornado safety position.

That was at least 2 yards, instead of a penalty

I dont think the penalty was his plan, I think a completed pass was the plan there.

Do you even remember JaMarcus? He was not fast & did not like to run, but even he could make an intelligent play & tuck it for some positive yards

He also weighed as much as a Mack truck and could hit like one.

Good point. He would do well for himself and the passing game if he would just run every now and then when the opportunity is there. One more element to keep the defensive backs honest. This is why having Spencer Ware at QB could be the best move the Tigers have available going forward the rest of the season - at least in the red zone. I think Ware was a QB in HS as well.

Yeah, he's super slow, but if your going to throw the ball 20 yards over the line of scrimmage, then run the damn ball.

He had a few times Saturday when he could have run it. Over an incomplete pass, I'll take a two-yard gain. He's acting like he doesn't have legs at times. He needs to change that.

I've seen the guy trip over a hash mark. Not sure if it's a head thing or if he's just that clumsy.
