I want to know exactly who is the one sucking here. I can't just assume this is all about nicks to grubbs....

I think they're under performing as a unit. The pass blocking has improved greatly, but they still haven't clicked as a unit when it comes to the run game.

Is this a eyeball or stat question?

how come our "unit" isn't clicking when we have just about as much consistency as there is in the unit. Grubbs in/NIcks out... strief been here long time bdlp been there for bit. No excuse for not getting shite clicked.

eyballs can sometimes be more beneficial. If you got either, bring it.

I'm not sure. Why did it take so long to fix our protection problems? It could also be a matter or run plays that are called and the play design.
I know only one guy changed, but Nicks would clear out people. Grubbs is no joke either, but he's no Nicks.

i think its more of a scheming, play call design issue. Payton knew what to call at those key times... i just seldom see us taking advantages of what the D is doing.... our screening game has taken a hit too.

Names huh?
How about Kromer?
How about Kromer?

I think you will see a change starting this week with Kromer back just coaching them.

Carmichael! I go heavy on the playcalling here. Payton is the king of the chess match strategies of playcalling. They've as much as declared Ingram is our short yardage back. When he has come into the game it has been a running play over 70% of the time. That in itself is way too predictable. Subtract the way they have used Ingram and the team rushing average goes up a half yard. Yes, he needs to show more but using him in such a predictable fashion is a losing proposition.

Payton is gone. With him goes our scheming, our play calling, our OC, our HC, our player accountability, and our coach accountability. When he is here if a player or coach messed up, he got in their face and let them know it. Kromer is nothing like that
Also with Payton, the defense had to think more, both opposing players and coached. With PC here, there is alot of predictability in our offense, which leads to better play by a defense.
Also, Vitt, our back up HC, is gone.
Also, Kromer, who is a frickhead, now has to take on the responsibility or HC plus Oline coach, so our Oline is suffering.
The problem comes from so many more than just one name.

I think yesterday had a lot to do with predictable playcalling. They should have had a few outside runs w/ PT or Ingram. It looked to me like TB's front 7 were squeezed inside to stop interior runs when those two were in.

Where was Nicks on the Saints goal line stand. Getting his arse handed to him that's where. Hokie thinks its a combination of olinemen mainly in a pass protection mindset most of the time. It's hard for the olinemen to switch to run blocking mode when we pass 3/4 of the time any way.

Yep. PT and Sproles have a combined 72 carries for 333 yards, which is a very respectable 4.625 ypc. They need to either mix it up more with Ingram or leave him on the bench.
