What was the primary differing variable in all the above? Anyone? Anyone

I am not posting this to discredit anyone who strapped up for LSU football. This is to show how our expectations from the QB position have changed over the past decade. Winning is no longer good enough. We have to be better than our best to make everyone happy now and then I still think some would complain.

With regard to no improvement:

look at Jarret Lee (a pocket passer) -
first year starting...53.2% comp, with 14 tds and 16 ints.
last year starting...62.3% comp, with 14 tds and 3 ints

6-3 with <55% completion percentage would get boo'd out the stadium now. It was All-SEC back then.

Many here believe Davey was one of the best QBs of all-time at LSU. He was 10-3 with <60% completions.

At the start of the year, we complained they weren't throwing the ball down the field and we were unhappy with short passes. Then we complained that Mett was holding the ball too long waiting for downfield receivers. Now we finally get a game where the OL is holding and we take some shots down the field and we are unhappy.

Maybe the issue isn't with the team, it's with us and our unattainable expectations of a first year QB in the SEC during its prime.

Just a thought.

Also, I am not condoning the playcalling which I think has been sketchy this year. This is strictly about QB development and how the fanbase perceives our QB currently.

What whiny bullshite slobbering drivel. . .

Nobody is demanding the best damn passing game in the SEC.

Just a viable threat that puts up reasonable numbers.

You idiots are the people that see this as an unreasonable request.

It's not even the numbers, really. Our passing game has looked like a completely confused mess over the past 4-5 seasons. That's not a talent issue.
