Drew Brees responds to Terry Bradshaw’s taunts.
October 11, 2012 NFL
On Wednesday, Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw threw a lot of shade in the direction of Saints trigger puller Drew Brees.
The long and short of is that Bradshaw felt a certain kind of way about Brees requesting special permission to have the suspended trio of Sean Payton, Mickey Loomis and Joe Vitt in attendance for his shot at breaking Johnny Unitas’ most consecutive games with a TD record.
The ensuing uproar was as engulfing as you would imagine would be that involves the Saints right now.
This morning on NFL AM, Brees somewhat deflected Bradshaw’s comments while primarily sticking up for his own position.
“I haven’t heard his comments directly,” Brees said, “but there’s no person who’s a bigger part of that record than Sean Payton, Mickey Loomis, Joe Vitt — all the coaches on suspension right now. I felt it was very appropriate for them to be there because they are as big a part of that as anybody, and it really made for a special night, a historic night. I was really glad they could be a part of it.”
Bradshaw has recently taken issue with the Steelers Ben Roethlisberger, the Bears Jay Cutler and now Brees. Is it safe to call him a grumpy old hater at this point?

More appropriately a goofy loud mouth from Shreveport. Would you expect anything less? He's still one of my favorite commentators.
ETA: Jayson78, well done sir.

The Beef that Bradshaw has with these guys is really expected. I think Bradshaw has earned the right to criticize Roethlisberger, as for Cutler, Bradshaw is not saying anything everyone else hasn't already said.

Bradshaw has burned his last bridge with me.
