Status of LSU Football - My Opinion

I haven't posted anything on here in a really long time, but I love/hate reading it. Sometimes it blows my mind peoples opinions and how you guys can jump off the cliff so quickly, but again I guess that's the reason for a message board so people with outlandish, ridiculous, and sometimes pure idiotic statements can say what they want to say. With that being said lets look at how I see LSU Football.
-Damn, we lost our FIRST regular season game since November 2010 to a now top 5 team. How many other teams in D1 have this record?
-LSU is currently on its SCHOOL RECORD longest home winning streak of 21 straight games. Last loss was in Oct 2009 to Florida who was ranked very high.
-LSU is ranked in the top 10 in 3 defensive categories and in my opinion is the absolutely best defense in NCAA.
-LSU is ranked in the top 10 in both the AP and USA today poll for the 24th consecutive week.
Are there issues with this current team? Sure...Offense is pretty pitiful, yes.
Do you as a rational person believe that you should go undefeated every year and win the National Championship every year? Do I want this??? ABSOLUTELY, but there are bumps and bruises throughout the journey. Am I going to jump off the cliff and hate on my own team??? ABSOLUTELY NOT. This is the SEC, EVERYONE IS GOOD, there will be losses at times. 1 every couple years is PRETTY DAMN GOOD.
This football team is a very good team and has a VERY tough road ahead. Our next 4 opponents are a combined 20-1, all four ranked in the top 25 and 2 in the TOP 3.
Do you believe that we need all the complaining right now or do you think we need to get out there and support these guys with this RIDICULOUSLY hard schedule. These guys need to know they need to get up off their arse and go kick some arse and that the fans are going to be right there with them.

I agree with most of this, but when will we be able to field an offense that plays equal to the talent we put on the field? I think most are just looking for some sort of effort to get this offense on track. You stated where our Defense ranks and how good we are on that side of the ball, but what are we doing to get the offense on par with the defense.
FWIW, Im not a Miles hater and I know that we cant win it every year, but I do expect coaches to make adjustments to the gameplan and we have yet to see that. That seems to be where all of the hostility stems from.

thanks for chiming in, Belowpar !!! Although I am not a Miles fan, I am an LSU fan and will scream my head off Saturday night !!! Hope everyone else does too and the players feel the love !!! They deserve it!!

In all fairness, I don't believe this is the expectation of most of the Rant.
It is not nearly dominant enough. They expect we win every game by 50 points and leave the other teams and coaches quivering in a pool of their own excrement.

Have people still not wrapped their heads around the fact that the negativity, hate and disgruntlement of LSU fans stems solely from the fact that our number 1 rival and divisional foe has a better coach and better team and is accomplishing what LSU should be accomplishing while we continue to play second fiddle?
I think people simply realize what this program COULD be and see what the "underachievement" and get vitally pissed off about it. This fanbase needs a serious shot of rational thought and tempered expectations as long as Saban is at Alabama.

I really think if club can get by SCar it will be a very good (and at this point a seemingly surprising) year. If not, it's going to be tough. Still got LSU winning 16-10.
