I've said I shot mechs in the past, and I have no issue with them. The only thing a fixed will do that a mech won't has to do with penetration which really isn't an issue on deer sized game.
My main problemswith mechanicals doesn't apply to probably 99% of this board. It's the people that will aim center mass on a deer because they think a 2 inch cut broadhead is like "throwing an axe through an animal"

Chad, don't on page 1 of this thread you admit to never killing a deer with a bow?

quote:never said either... it does seem to bother me when somebody speaks like something is the truth and in actuality has very LIMITED or NO experience at all with what they are professing to be the gospel... This thread is full of it.. I've seen several of these folks arguing up and down about broadheads, grains, bows, etc. and then in this thread say that they have never killed a deer, killed 1 or 2 deer.. WTH? It's sort of laughable.. Tell me that you like your broadhead for reasons A, B, and C, but only tell me after you have killed 20 or so with it and the opposite kind as well... Then you might have a legitimate opinion...
despite your mechanical heads, not because of them.
OK, i'm outta breath and goin to take a nap..
But seriously, in bow hunting, shot placement is the most important and even on perfect shots you may lose some, just a fact..

By rocket broadheads?

I shot Steel Force fixed blades for years.
The most accurate fixed i ever shot.

They really do exist. Just go talk to just about anybody who's broadhead shopping in cabelas.

Meat Seekers leave nasty holes. If someone said I had to gut shoot my next deer I'd buy a pack of 2 inch mechs tomorrow

guy in the office next to me had this happen over the weekend.
double lunged it, recovered the arrow with full blood, great blood trail, deer crossed a river, ran into some thickets, lost blood, 3 hours later no recovery.

I shoot spitfire,, for the 20th time... i'm sure the rage are good, as well as a 100 more,,, just like fixed are... I started using spitfire when they first came out, cause I didnt have to adjust sights to target shoot in the off season....comprehend?

Slick tricks definitely take this cake in my experience with new fast bows.
Mine also shoots tight groups with muzzy, but they don't go to the same place as field points. I have to move my sights to shoot them. Don't have that problem with slick tricks.

I saw plenty of them buying bags of corn and Rages at Wal Marks the Friday night before opening day

no what's different about the spit fire? And sometimes you don't have to get pumped in the arse to just know you don't like something. It's fun hating on Rage. There's Lebron, Mark Ingram, yetis, Rage and Coors Light drinkers.

I've killed about a dozen with my bow, I have had one mechanical hit a deer quartering in in Iowa that tore the frick out of two of three blades, breaking one off and bending one back on the ferrel. Deer left coughing with blood spewing out exit side....never found him. I shoot a mechanical still, but don't doubt those that have had bad experiences
Posted on 10/9/12 at 4:03 pm to Chad504boy
Tell me again how many deer you have shot with your muzzy.
I have made a terrible shot and good shot with my rage and guess what found both.
Made a good hit on a pig last year with a muzzy and guess where it is, rotted in the woods somewhere because left no blood trail.
