Will be my sons first real hunt. He is so damn excited he is all jacked up. A borrowed .410 and a primos squirrel buster call is all we need.
I sure hope he gets a shot a one.
I remember when my dad took me the first time.

He is 7, so it's gonna be an excersice in patience. We are gonna stalk till we find an acorn tree. Sit and call.

I'm looking forward to my kids making their first kill.

I loved stalking squirrels when there was no wind, awesome times!

Good times. I sat in the pasture this morning. SHot one with my 22. Had 3 more put the slip on me. Hard to get on them little bastards with a 22 in all those leaves. Even harder to slip up on em with no ground cover! Trying to get back in practice so when that boy gets old enough I can teach him something!

My big concern is Mosquitos and availability of game. Staying in St Amant and hunting a 33acre wood plot a friend owns. Should have a few.

I remember my first squirrel hunt with my dad. I had a borrowed 410 also. It was awesome, killed one squirrel and i thought i was an expert hunter. Remember details to this day! Ur son and u will cherish this moment

You will have a blast, but your son will remember this forever. Hope he gets him one

Ok, hunting novice here.
What shot are you using in the 410?
Is there a good 22 shot for squirrel?
If you get a few, how do you skin them?

7 or 8 is fine
Yes 22's are a great squirrel gun. Hollow points work best.
I prefer the CCI brand.

I remember my first squirrel hunt like it was yesterday. Great memory for me. I am the youngest of 3 and my dad had taken my 2 older brothers one morning when I wasn't feeling well. I was so upset, and cried most of the day the next day he brought just me and an old crack barrel 20 gauge. We went yesterday morning and I still use my crack barrel 20 anytime I hunt with him. Nothing better than a morning in the woods with the old man
