I've heard horror stories about Gator fans. Fights, cars with signage getting keyed, vulgar & rude heckling to females, etc. Any truth to this? I know LSU fans are brutal as well but I heard Gator fans are the worse.

angry young males fortifyed with much alcohol and in the security of others of their ilk always are trouble. football is a violent sport and some people can't handle alcohol and sport. fact, womens and childrens abuse shelters are SRO after a big college football game, whether is gainsville, baton rouge, knoxville, etc. my advice is to stay away from young male floria fans, period.

I didnt have a bad experience with the fans when I went, but I just thought it was a boring place. No tailgating and such.

worst trip in the league
after the 06 game, we had a flat tire, pulled into gas station off campus, and we had dozens of cars stop and threaten us, one even drove into the lot and got out of their cars, until we grabbed tire irons
AND WE HAD A GATOR FAN WITH US!

Florida was the worst experience outside the stadium, Ole Miss was the worst experience IN the stadium.

I didn't like it because there wasn't a whole lot of tailgating and stuff.

And the cops are huge dicks to LSU fans.

the fans are fine as long as you dont let it bother you. the trip itself does suck though imo.

Just remember, if you approach Gainesville and you hear banjos....keep paddling.
North Fla ain't South Beach.

You have to dish it out to them before they get the chance to do the same to you.

I have never talked more shite in my life than I did after we won in 2010. And I was by myself with no backup.

They didn't say shite.

I went two years ago and found the trip enjoyable...

like the other away games, if you draw attention to yourself by bieng an obnoxious or get sloppy drunk, trouble will quickly find you...but if you are civilized and steer clear of obvoious groups of assholes, you won't have any problems at all...I walked around with a cup of beer all day and didn't get one single bit of flack from the cops....

also, like anywhere else, if you leave your vehicle decorated, expect to come out and find it fricked up....

Florida's NASCAR crowd = LSU's Roughneck Crowd

Behave yourself and avoid instigations in places should not be, and you'll be fine.

Go to the wrong areas or mouth off, and you'll see the bad side, just like visitors to LSU games.

I was at the game in Florida in 98, and I actually witnessed some of the Florida fans spit on an older couple, LSU Alumni, probably in there 70's. Florida won that year and they still acted like trash. It wasn't long before that guy and his friends had their asses handed to them by a mob of LSU fans.
