headline story on yahoo. this is an example of what is wrong with todays news.
the headline is that he has BLOWN $30 million since 2008
when u read the article it says he spent the money the following ways
so he spent $22.8 million of the $30 million responsibly, and with having kids and such i think its pretty reasonable that he couldve spent $5.5 million on living expenses the last 4 years, and would imagine that is less than a lot of his teammates
how can they even count the money paid in taxes amongst money spent?

The gossip site got a hold of some of the NFL player’s bankruptcy papers and found that Vick paid$10.9 million in taxes, $9.2 million to creditors, and $2.7 million to accountants and lawyers. That adds up to $22.8 million. The rest of the money was apparently spent on child support, living expenses, and other purchases.

i've never really been a fan. as soon as the wheels fall off the eagles are going to be regretting that $100mil ($40 guaranteed)contract they gave him last year.

Doesn't sound like he spent his money wisely. I'd consider that blowing it.
Why did he owe 9.7 to creditors? You don't just "spend" $30mm

I wouldn't really call owing $9 mill to creditors and $10 mill to taxes responisble. Seeing as those amounts are so large probably due to penalty and interest.

he filed for bankruptcy in 2008, he made a settlement with creditors where he has to pay them off through 2014
quote:
So despite the fact that Vick has blown through $30 million over the last four years, only about $1 million of that has been spent on personal expenses. And personal expenses doesn’t mean a Lamborghini. His $300,000 living expenses covered things like rent, food, and education for his kids.
According to Yahoo, the “reorganization plan” strictly dictated where Vick could spend his money. For instance, the star has been allowed to spend $4,250 per month on rent and utilities and $472 per month on a car.

So just because he settled to pay off old debt he didn't "blow it".
Come on, Vick blew the damn money, probably on retarded shite.

I can't tell if you are being serious. He has to be told how he can spend his money now, yet you think his choices weren't that bad?

nah not a waste. Can't find a nice place to live for less than 3k a month nor a decent car to lease for less than 400 a month
GMAFB
eta: yea I know he's got kids to feed, thanks Spree!!!!

maybe, maybe not with the creditors.
10 million in taxes is reasonable when you consider how much he has made. Nothing you can do about Uncle Sam.

I thought this was high but then I remembered he had a little legal problem.

i'm saying his choices since he has been given a second chance haven't been bad. of course he did dumb shite before but he had the largest nfl contract ever and lost at least $100 million because of fighting dogs

Because he made a lot of stupid mistakes when younger and now he's literally paying for it.

I don't see what the issue is, he had a shite ton of bills bc of bad decisions and now he is paying them off? Where is the problem?
