Question is, do audiences want to see a “real-world” approach to the Man of Steel?

I do, mostly because Superman has always been so boring to me

For me too. And for a few reasons. His powers are too much. Eye lazers? Turning time by spinning the frickin planet? And I find Clark to be boring. Unlike iron man who is interesting whether in his suit or as Stark, Clark is boring. And he never had suitable enemies. Luthor always was cheesy and lame.

Yep. I dont want to see the flying boyscout that everyone automatically loves. You know if there was a powerful alien flying around here there would be a large faction of people freaking the frick out. Show that. And show Superman's struggle with what he is and where he is.

this.

I am not taking shots at ppl who love Superman. We all have different taste.

But IMO Superman is a bore and I have very little interest in him unless it's a story that has him needing help from us lowly humans
