Yeah, from what I've read, he really got fricked on that deal. People were still saying it's his fault, but the government of Rhode Island recruited his company there and then reneged on what they promised. He went broke trying to keep people employed.

As big an a-hole as I think he is, he did get a pretty raw deal.

35 million. Shilling seems to be more of just bad luck if he had that much personal cash. Took a risk and crapped out.

He isn't an idiot like most of the people on the episode.
