To equal yardage of both qb's combined last year. He is not as bad as people make him out to be. Our O-line needs to be better and receivers need to stop dropping the football.

He'll finish way over that and just enough to keep winning.

It is absolutely amazing that we went undefeated in the regular season last year.

not really

lee was good other than the Bama game and we actually threw deep play action passes last year. JJ was garbage though.

The team last year had HB7. He always seemed to give the team a spark. We also had way more focus to start the season last year due to playing up to the level of competition.

The way this season has started makes you appreciate 2011 that much more. Teams stacked the box, but our O-line and backfield still ran the ball at will.

He throws a great pass when he has time. We need to give him time. But he also needs to learn how to deal with it when does not have enought time. I sure havent given up on him

Yeah but...but...pot and weed and stuff...makes players bad or something.

Him and the offense turning the ball over, allowing sacks and dropping passes is what's holding us back. Not as much to do with his passing yards.

Ive never understood comparing one mans stats to two mens stats. Mett isnt splitting time with another QB, and the games are the same time length this year as last. He will ahve played the same ammount of time as both QB's combined for, so its not exactly a huge feat to have more yards than them combined

Lee had a Passer rating of 152.0 last year

Mettenstache has a rating of 150.5

Just compare Lee's first 5 SEC games last year to Mett's first 5 games this year

Lee completed 66.3% of his passes, averaged 8.83 yards per pass attempt, had 8 TDs to only 1 INT, and a 166.2 passer rating in those first 5 SEC games

Mettenberger's numbers are worse than that

Lee had OL to provide time to pass, plus he seemed more mobile, Mett needs to feel the pressure coming and know when to step up in the pocket, course got to have enough protection for a pocket to develop

Last year's team made dynamic plays in every game.

Randle
Mathieu
Claiborne

Those guys made huge momentum swinging plays in EVERY GAME

Those plays are not happening. our offense is built around trying to gain 8 yards max on every play.

Our defense is solid but not dynamic anymore. we just dont take the ball away and score with it anymore

Lee also faced better competition in his first 5. There was a reason Mettenberger rode the pine last year, and we are seeing that now.

This. has nothing to do (or not as much to do) w/yardage.

The turnovers, especially in the freaking red zone, is very troublesome.

I wouldn't say "at will." Defense bailed the Tigers out of several games last season, i.e., the Oregon, Bama, Arkansas, and Georgia games. There was literally no offense to speak of in the Bama game, and nothing in the first half of the Arkansas and Georgia games. Had it not been for some advantageous turnovers from the D, LSU could've easily been 9 and 3, or could've very well lost the SECCG.

This year they're not getting the breaks with the turnovers due to a decrease in personnel on the D. Offense will need to step up a heck of a lot if they want to stay undefeated.

True. The offense needs to step it up.

Comparing this year's QB play to last year's QB play is not a good barometer. Everyone knows that the passing game was awful last year.

It's pretty bad again this year. We may have a few more yards overall this year through 5 games, but we have far fewer big plays, touchdowns, and more picks.
