Before this season everyone was so high on him and thought he would be gone in the first round. I tried to explain to ppl why he wouldn't and ppl jumped down my throat. I guess I was right.

Right about what? Simon has to play the number 1 receiver every week and has done a great job. You're acting like he's giving up td's and big plays every week.

This is the same reason why Jefferson played last year and not Lee. It's a mobility issue.

Jeremy Hill taking the first snap from scrimmage and going 75 yards on his way to a 200+ yard rushing performance.
Jessie Palmer is a SEC guy. He has to say this. If he doesn't, no one else will.

I like what you did there.
I would rather play them at 8-0 than coming off of a home loss.

Your hate for Simon is getting old. Is he playing as good as Peterson or Claiborne? Not at all. But they were the #5 and #6 pick in the draft. He is still having a solid season playing the #1's on every team. Laugh on draft day.

Nov. 3 may decide the West, but there's a lot more football to go before the NC matchup is decided.

All coaches, including Miles, need to understand that it is much better to be respected by your players than it is to be liked by them.

I'll relay this to the coaching staff.

thats the beauty of having a conference championship.

Didn't seem to affect Bama last year.

Even after LSU beating a #1 BAMA and a #1 Florida. And with KSU possibly undefeated or with a 1 loss Bama/Florida team. You are nuts.

Nothing is out of the question with the BCS. K-State will be the odd team out.

USC is 16th in computers...They will not win enough high quality opponents to help them in the computers to maintain a top 2 ranking.

But even with this, they are hanging around at #9. If they beat a #4 Oregon team, and a #5 ND team, they will be in the picture.

You could also make a case for a 1 loss ND team if the loss was to a good team and close. For some weird arse reason, the country loves ND when they are relevant. It would be closer than people think. People down here underestimate the amount of hate the country has for the SEC.

This. I just have the feeling that a 1 loss ND or 1 loss USC team will be in the National Championship game.
'B' for our receiving group? What kind of curve are you grading on?

And we are leaving out the most important grade, which is for the head coach. Bama A+. LSU B- on the same curve as the receivers.
No one is gonna jump an undefeated ND team. It's been too long since they been in the NC picture. I also think that USC needs to lose again then beat ND. The media would love a 1 loss USC team.

My offensive MVP right now is Josh D for his single game performance against USC. He manhandled the best defensive end in all of college football, who will be the number one overall pick in 2014 draft, in the biggest game of the year for us to this point.

I agree with this. The coaches should make the team watch his performance for motivation.
I like Hilliard on the offensive side of the ball, but I see Hill taking charge from here on out. And I like Minter on defense, he's everywhere and seems to be the most consistent.

I also feel that we need our receiving group as a whole to step up, but no real surprise there.

All this bashing on Mett and the team is a bit absurd. WTF did you expect from an unproven QB commodity in his first SEC starts? Given the talent that left last year did you expect we would be better?

I think most of the ranters expected LSU's offense to look like West Virginia's, Mett for Heisman, and an undefeated National Championship season. They slightly overlooked the fact that it may actually take time for him to get accustomed to being the man.

There is no way in hell this football team will beat USCe, Alabama, A&M or Miss St. No offense. Prediction = 8-4.

Technically, your prediction would make us 7-5, but I see where you were going with it. It's gonna be tough. The good thing is that 3 of the 4 is at home.
Ok OP, I just read the article from which you quoted, and it is nowhere near hate. Very poor attempt to bash ESPN.

OP, are you an ESPN employee letting us know that you're employer hates LSU? Because the title and the thread doesn't go together.

Sometimes our best advice is our own advice.

damn i guess all of our concerns are wiped away because of that game.

That was the best passing team we played and he took away the #1 receiver like always.

Tharold Simon . . . Really . . . He has been playing inconsistent (crap to strong a word) all year. Maybe he should step up his game (tackle) and act like a leader for the young guys. He has been a regular and starter for 3 years now.

Playing like crap all year? What games are you watching? Yes the tackling needs to improve, but the coverage is still there. He's still our best corner. And you dont know what goes on behind the scenes as far as film study and things like that. I know that he's helping the young guys with that.
It takes balance on offense and a good defense. Can't be one dimensional.

Everything he says makes sense. LSU makes too many mistakes right now. If they correct them, they'll contend for a title. If they dont correct them, they wont. Simple as that. Yes this team has alot of potential, but potential has never won the SEC or BCS.
I noticed the Redskins running that lil toss to the running back yesterday. Everyone has an eye on Les Miles' playbook.
True, but I wouldn't consider it a success just because this year's total yards will surpass last year's total.
